Domestic night vision goggles. White phosphor by the looks of it. The video implies that this is a gen 2+ system.

Would be interesting to see how they perform in true night environment.

That said, if these are legitimate gen 2+ domestic tubes, and if they can be economically mass produced, then this may be one of the most significant developments for PLA infantry/small arms in recent years surpassed only by the development and procurement of the QBZ-191 family.

The only thing not yet seen widely deployed to regular infantry are the battlebelts. Everything else is standard issue. Well, maybe the plate carriers are a little more fancy, but the practical impact isn’t huge.
There are still a lot of regular combat units running around with barebones GK80/QGF03+Type-06 combo lol. In fact some are even ordering more Type-06 in starry sky pattern. The POS just won't die. o_O

Interesting. The tubes themselves I am not able to correlate to a foreign product so if they say it's domestic then I'll respect that, though the mount seems to be foreign (Wilcox brand).

If these are domestic tubes, and if they are mass producible, perform adequately over time, and not exorbitantly expensive, I suppose the question is whether the new standard helmets are able to accommodate a proper NVG mount or whether they have to use the FAST style helmets which aren't issued as standard.

He did say they are domestically built and only can be ordered by military/police units, not open to civilian purchase.

I Believe currently that these NVG will be used among the Police SWAT, Some PAP Units, and PLA SOF特战 during certain operation scenarios, I did remember seeing a converter for the type 21 helmet to mount proper NVGs

the domestically designed helmet setup combined with Thermal, NVG rifle goggles will be the main focus for the majority of the regular infantry troops in the combined arms bridge, with some elite or perhaps all infantry units eventually equipping the Huawei phone version of ATAK. Plus some special recon units will be Equipped with gen 2+ Thermal/NV fusion goggles from the looks of it.

Personally I think priority should be towards widespread distribution of these among PLA SOF, PLA recon, PAP SOF, and police SWAT in that descending order (all of course with accompanying IR lasers)

Specifically, with the intent that all PLA SOF brigades and units (among all arms of the PLA) and PLA recon units would have NVGs organic to every personnel that has a combat facing role.

I do recall the new helmet being equipped with a dual tube set up, but I'm not sure if it was properly fitted and actually viable. It doesn't look particularly sturdy to me.
