Good summary and rundown of the role Jimmy Lai and Apple Daily played during the Hzk riots. Man, Anglo western spies were rampant in HK, they really went all out trying to foment secession and rebellion, using Chinese student bodies and idiots as potential bullet fodder. That stupid “anthem”? Definitely a cia art student failson idea. At least Les Miserables was about a popular revolution akin to the communist uprisings of the latter century, the hk students aping white people….embrassing to say the least.

Seems like the Brits are dirt deep into causing trouble in HK. No wonder I see alot of their garbage activist takes on my twitter feed. The latest is that they are crying that Andy Li was torture for the confession. I guess he must have some juicy stuff that will come out further.

A top United States defense specialist wrote to billionaire anti-China campaigner Jimmy Lai in 2020 to tell him to create an English language version of Apple Daily to increase US support, a court heard. This would be “politically useful if not financially,” said former US government advisor Christian Whiton, in an email to Jimmy Lai in April 2020. Whiton is known for his calls for the world’s rich nations to hinder growth in developing China.

Definitely would fail.
Apple Daily is portrayed as some kind of political publication, but actually it's bread and butter was celebrity scandals/nudes in the spirit of Daily Mail.

It was so lascivious that even the Taipei government reprimanded it

Anyone know what happened with /r/hongkong moderator misswolverine aka nahcamme aka Emma Chan? All of the moderator team got removed or resigned shortly after the NSL passed, but it was relatively easy to identify some of the most inflammatory of them during the height of the riots.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
