The rioters are racist. It is an aspect overlooked by the media because it doesn't fit the popular narrative of "democracy". You know they are already against the mainland folks. However, there is a lot more.



Look at the graffiti on the Best Mart 360 (owned by Fujianese), correct me if I am wrong, but I believe it is daring them to come arrest them (the vandals), and saying Fujianese are sellouts. The article also mentions another case of "racially" motivated vandalism of the Fulum restaurant.

This is like a less-extreme Kristallnact, but you will be hard pressed to find front page coverage of it.

This is typical though, it is not a China-West phenomenon. Whatever ideological enemy of the day gets the most negative coverage, and their antagonists are glorified. Remember the Chechens, how they were tough freedom fighters against Russian oppression? Similar for Kosovar militants. Then things like ISIS and Boston Marathon happen, and no media or government blames themselves.

Some other questions:
To those in HK, are there any "Self-Defense organizations"?
I saw there was a "Safeguard HK" group a few pages back, but what is happening on the ground?

I've noticed that MTR closure rarely happens east of Causeway Bay, I would like to think that the rioters are not welcome in Fortress Hill and North Point for obvious reasons, but are they taking real action against them?

Similarly, the "New Territories Rural Villages", have they tried to attack them?

Also, how is it possible that the Churches and Schools have become so toxic? Many posters mentioned that Queen Elizabeth portraits used to hang in all classrooms, if someone was caught defiling it, it is an almost assured expulsion. How did teachers become so politicized (and anti-China) in the post 67 era?

As a corollary, if this kind of political education continues, then what hope is there for HK's future? There is an increasing need for technical education, around the world, and especially in China. If the young are pushed into these political endeavors, then they will almost assuredly fall further behind the rest of Asia. Look at the delays of J-10 and JF-17 for the effects of CR.

To this point, there is a dearth of great HK corporations? HK was ahead technologically, educationally, financially, but now it is history. Even Taiwanese companies like Pegatron and Foxconn, were able to capitalize on China's growth so much better, despite being more politically distanced.

People don't believe the 15 year old girl drowned themselves, but how is it shocking? Teens are going to these mobs where the people act no better than animals, combined with typical teenage hormones, how is it shocking that she might have PTSD?

So it begins! USA passed the HK bill!
So it's ok for USA to meddle in other peoples affairs, but if anyone else meddle into USA affairs........ then all hell breaks loose!

I know I am late, but I can't skip the fun. To actually mean something medieval cruelty in Chinese, you will say "枭首示众，传首九州，挫骨扬灰，剥皮植草，夷九族，千刀万剐", all have been used as execution methods up till 19th century, they can and should be literally translated to English. But I will leave the translation out of the forum for them being extremely gruesome.

His post includes a report he made for 7 news, but his personal associated anecdote is perhaps the most telling of the situation. It seems like his opinion was formed by literally witnessing these events in real life and seeing how various media were selectively reporting and/or editing video captures (such as Celine Ma's interaction with the mob) which he acknowledges is too much.

It's unbelievable and unfathomable that any country would allowed a foreigner with a deep hatred towards that country to take control of such important part of the propaganda machine!

Its with good reason media is known as the 5th armed force!

And just think, the traitor Jimmy Lai, who was born in China, fled China to Hong Kong. All the time his hatred to CCP-China never diminish. So now he peddles his anti-CCP propaganda all the time through his media empire, but all the time retained his get out clause if things get bad. He will simply upstick and goes to Canada, having obtain Canadian citizenship by money! While the rest of his troops will have to live with a broken Hong Kong that he started and encourage!

This is why I believe anyone in Hong Kong in a position of responsible position should have to give up dual-citizenship. So they are in the same boat as everyone else!

Either way, it's a sxxt song with no rythm, and the lyrics are awful! Just nothing but swear words about police, blah blah blah.
Typically. she was given so much time in western governments and MSM. And put up as the face of the protest, because of her star appeal, and maybe a pretty face. Yet, the fact she is a Canadian citizen, with no skin in the game is quietly gloss over!

I always believe christians got no place in China inc Hong Kong. This just reinforced my view. China is right not allowing catholics priest being slected by the Vatican!

When I was a poor boy growing up in Hong Kong, the christian missionary was given out FREE spaghetti and other pasta, etc to the poor. But the only way we can have it is by .....,. Being a christian!
