Why the firms are leaving Taiwan? The US should make them stay and support muh democracy. I thought after pelosi's visit it's over for China, Taiwan is victorious and everyone is rushing to invest. Jai Tsai.
Pelosi got that CHIPS act through bought the stocks and then went lets kill Taiwan high tech manufacturing base, so my stock can go to the moon.

Yes, it is a warning to Japan. Now if they are going to heed it or not, that's another matter. I personally hope they don't. Its about time we get some payback from the Japanese

Looking at all the terrible political commentary by experts and professors from supposedly top american universities have made me start to doubt the prestige of these universities.

Fully agreed. Great analysis.
And also, China first needs to convince it's own people ( Taiwanese, but the rest of China too ) that China can be as good as the US, by having average Chinese living standard at least as good as the anywhere in the First World, by having Chinese Party elite kids studying in Beijing and Shangai- not in US Ivy League, driving Chinese cars, not German, having C919 with Chinese parts, not with foreign etc. etc.
So yes, China has much more noodles to eat...
Both Taiwan and top tier cities in mainland enjoy a "first world" standard of living. By my subjective eyes the whole mainland is going on a constant overhaul. USA on the other hand, given the facts of the owful handling of the pandemic, the internal problems (BLM movement, capitol storm, homeless, drug addiction), the high inflation, monstrous welth gap, technically in a recession. I cannot see any good for USA for the coming years. I just can't imagine how. With Pelossi's blanks? Sanctions failed blatantly. Maybe if USA change it's behaviour both at home and the rest of the world. It's like Deng set the trap and let it be lol

Having a British accent does not make you a smart man, Shashi Tharoor.

Go ahead India, do it! Think you have seen what bad relations with China looks like? You ain't seen nothing yet!
The Indian are learning from that witch to turn the public attention at home away from their own domestic problems. Indian seriously will try anything to annoy and harm China be it either at the present or in the future.

“I have seven fortune 500 companies asking me to pre-plan and build an outline of triggers for them to start moving people, infrastructure, and assets [outside of Taiwan]. That's real. It's happening,” said DALE BUCKNER, chief executive officer of international security firm Global Guardian. “There are some companies that are taking this very seriously [because] they don't want to happen what just happened in Russia where they lost billions of dollars’ worth of assets, both financial and hard, so they are already looking to disperse people and assets [to other countries.”

“We have manufacturers that can simply build a new manufacturing facility in South Korea or Japan or in the Philippines and some are doing that [while] some are moving those manufacturing facilities to Europe or the United States,” Buckner said. “I don't think that you're seeing boatloads of materials leave the island or people evacuating at scale — this will be a very drip-drip slow over time transition that won’t be noticeable unless there is some level of attack or blockade of some kind.”

Tsai: And how much will this photo shot cost?
Pelosi: Oh don't worry, it's free of charge. Won't cost you a dime?

Tsai: And you say you got my back if Xi acts up?
Pelosi: Girl, I got 2 carrier groups in the pacific. If he tries anything we'll be there in a flash.

CVN76 Officer: Sir the phone is ringing again. I think it's from Pelosi.
Captain Goldhammer: Ignore it. They are having a barbecue at Guam. We won't miss it. Helmsman!! SET COURSE FOR PORT APRA!! Let nothing stop us.

Pelosi: He didn't pick up again?
Aide: No ma'am.

Pelosi: And where are the Koreans? Where are all the paparazzi and fans?
Aide: We couldn't get in touch with them as well.

Pelosi:

If anyone in Japan thought they could avoid involvement in a conflict in the Taiwan Strait,” Mr. Sneider added, “the Chinese have demonstrated that’s not the case.”

Mr. Sneider obviously got it wrong. The correct conclusion is: if anyone in Japan thought they should get involved in a conflict in the Taiwan Strait, the Chinese have demonstrated that’s not the case.

Mark my words, if Japan intervenes in a Taiwan conflict then liberation of the Ryukyus is on the table.

Given how badly the Indian economy relies on China. This is a disastrous idea to divert attention away from India's own domestic problems. As James Carville once said: "It's the economy, stupid".

But yeah, they really are that stupid.
