Was there any doubt?
By the DPP hanjians, by the West, by the Jai Hinds, and lately by a number of Russians.

They imagined that the PLA has no conventional long range firepower to reach Taiwan. They believed that the PLA can only touch Taiwan via a Normandy-style beach landing. They imagined that only Taiwan is gonna be doing all the "pew-pew" at PLA troops coming across the strait.

So all those PLA-doubters needed a real life demonstration. Now, there can be no more doubts, that the PLA can touch Taiwan with long range firepower.

Here is the full text of the statement issued by Taiwan’s foreign ministry today:

On 4 August, China launched multiple ballistic missiles into waters to the northeast and southwest of Taiwan, threatening Taiwan’s national security, escalating regional tensions, and affecting regular international traffic and trade.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) strongly condemns the Chinese government for following the example of North Korea in wilfully test-firing missiles into waters near other countries, and demands that China exercise self-restraint.

MOFA urges the international community to condemn China’s military coercion towards Taiwan. The ministry also calls on countries around the globe to continue to speak up in support of democratic Taiwan in order to jointly safeguard the values of freedom and democracy, to maintain the rules-based international order, and to ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific

Perhaps Taiwan, not unlike US media and "news" has to run their articles by the CIA before going to press, or maybe this is the canned statement America instructed them to use

The island is effectively under US occupation when you realize who has influence over TW leadership and calling the shots etc.... not too unlike the Ukraine situation with Zelensky to be honest

"following the example of North Korea" thank god its only north korea and not following the example of the Ukraine.

I'd have a hard time feeling proud about and justifying Chinese actions if there was an Alley of Angels in Taipei.

How can Republic of China help the international law based order when the international law itself resists their existance? They're better off joining the national order of powers who recognize and support non-state armed entities, like the Russian Federation or United States' New World orders.

That's why they uses the term "rules-based international order"

And guess who makes the rules.

Not laws, rules ...
