Firstly, america already has military bases in Japan, South Korea and Philipines. Secondly, China's ADIZ is their right to excersize protection and defence of their country. When you can have Japan and America with abnormally large ADI Zones, stretching well beyond their borders or Exclusive Economic Zones. Then why critisize China of doing the same thing which america and japan have already done?

Frankly, that is pure hypocracy on the part of america and japan. Instead of being cooperative, understanding and learning to live with one another, they want to assert their own terms on others, while not allowing anyone to do what they do.

As for america setting up more bases in the Asia Pacific region. Well, if they got money to burn, then be our guest. But that begs question, where are you going to build more military bases? In Japan? You sure they have enough real estate to accomodate a large, over-sized military base? Also, would the Japanese people stand for another american military base, especially after the fiasco of US military personnel's misconduct, mistreatment of residents in proximity of the areas surrounding the american military bases and violation of civil-law like rape and so on?????

The guest did make a comment that with a folding wing and catapult assisted carrier, it could go up the future carrier.
The JH-7A certainly has enough thrust. Again with a catapult assisted carrier in the indigenous carrier. The JH-7A is a reasonably matured airframe with twin engine certainly has the prospect of going up the future carrier, not Liaoning.

Not a prayer my man, check out that wing, ain't gonna happen, and it most certainly does not have enough thrust to operate off the ramp, and if China's next carrier did have a catapult, (not likely initially???), you would still have to bring it aboard, again, not enough wing or thrust, the guest did mention a catapult and more thrust. I just hadn't read that far, but in my Humble Opinion, the JH-7a is not suitable as a carrier aircraft, even with a catapult?????? That's why in the past the USAF and the USN had separate aircraft, like the Swiss Army knife, at some point it ceases to be a "pocket knife" and becomes a "multi-tool". in any regard, we are off topic, China's long range combat air-patrol of its new ADIZ, would seem to be an ideal fit for the J-20, which I have speculated will receive a "shot in the arm", and move off the back burner since its implementation will encourage both Japan and South Korea to go for the F-35 in order to counter the likely hood of "running into" the neighbors. While the J-11B or the J-15 will serve as great aircraft for "combat air patrol" over water, the twin engines being a safety factor.

OH NO!, does this mean you're not going to join hands and sing Kumbaya at the Sino Defense New Years Party? I thought BHO promised the world would love us????

Japanese media is even more direct in pointing out Abe's failure.

Abe got as much as he could out of his ASEAN summit, since it was never realistic for ASEAN leaders to issue strong statement against China, so his objectives were probably more along the line of holding Japan's position, rather than visibly splitting ASEAN nations away from China and closer to Japan. From that perspective, Abe probably did some good for his country. Probably.

The Abe administration is neither conservative nor liberal. Quite belatedly, on Nov. 28, a group of 31 scholars issued a statement expressing their opposition to the state secrets law.

Port, this thread is about the ADIZ Zone. Limit your discussion to that please.

It is particularly not about forecasting World War III starting between China and Japan, or trying to equate modern Japan to the Nazis. That does nothing but inflame the thread and lead to flame wars.

Cut it out.

I'm no fan of Abe, but I don't believe it's just to call Abe "totalitarian," because he imposed his policies through laws enacted by a friendly Diet. The interesting thing is he has been upsetting the apple cart, and it remains to be seen if the cart bites back.

As for the 5th Sino-Japanese war leading to WW3, it's very unlikely to happen, as long as the US keeps a tight leash on Japan. On the other hand, no one expected a certain fishing boat incident in 2010 to lead to Diaoyu ADIZ, so you never know.

Oh I will ..... buddy ......... didn't think though if you're invited!!?!

;)

Well actually, I'm just the grillmaster, how would you like your steak sir, but really don't lump me into the "drone busters", I detest that aspect of American foreign policy, especially since the BHO team has drones all over our own country as well, and yes it is ignorant, and yes it is the height of arrogance, but back to China's ADIZ, it will have the effect of making everybody more "jumpy", and yes I believe it will make it appear imperative for Japan and South Korea to opt into the F-35, which will make it seem imperative that China develop and launch the J-20, etc, etc, etc,. Now that's not the only reason, and we are likely part of the problem, and part of the solution, America has become the land of absurdities, the more bizarre and absurd, the more likely this present team is to like the idea, and I am talking about the donkeys and the elephants, now I love my country, I love my constitution, I don't have any problem with my government.
