So, they will keep the Apple plant operating under lock down and stop building a carrier?
Right...

They will just put the workers on isolated accommodations.
Between the zealous Chinese nationalistic hawkish netizens who get overly salty about how "slow" this project is getting, and the anti-PRC Taiwanese/American/Japanese who prays to their God that this carrier never gets finished, you are bound to have the strange phenomenon that people after people saying the 003 got delayed, cancelled, put on pause, etc.

Hey, at least it's not some crazy Taiwanese peasant's claim that mainland ran out of TSMC chips to build weapons. ;)

cancelled ?

you mean delayed ?
Dear Pakistani friends, the actual situation is that the workers in the shipyard cannot produce the 003 aircraft carrier at full speed, and some of the staff live in downtown Shanghai and cannot work in the shipyard. I am from Suzhou, China. This is what I know of. One thing is for sure, 003 will definitely be completed this year

I think he was just correcting someone who didn't know the meaning of the English word Cancel.

Besides, being a Chinese or from China doesn't mean you actually know the system of China. Just think: If Chinese government allows food delivery men working during the lockdown, why couldn't it allow carrier building workers going work if time was so important to it?

But I don't think the time of launching the carrier is as important as delivering food to Shanghai residents so probably some workers may not be able to go work during the lockdown. Meanwhile other workers who live in non-lockdown zones will replace them so it might not cause a major delay to the project. It is not true that a certain job only can be done by a certain worker. Everyone is replaceable.

Delivery workers are NOT people in lock-down, they are equally regulated as the doctors, nurses and police officers. When they
work they do not have physical contact with the receivers in lock-down. They put the box on the ground outside of the gate, then walk away, the receiver picks it up, while always maintaining enough distance. It is then always up to the receiver to sanitize the package.

A factory worker is a person in lock-down, he/she must be firstly quarantined for many days before entering the factory to work with other people if he/she is from a lock-down zone. The factory must have enough accommodation within the factory ground to house its workers which is not possible these days since the economy reform from the 1980s.

So a delivery worker can work any time during the lock-down, but not the factory worker.

Do you think delivery workers could fetch the food from thin air like witches and wizards in Harry Potter movies and books? There are cooks, food factory workers and shop assistants processing them. And there also are workers working in factories supplying electricity, water, medical material and equipment...etc. “Essential workers” and what level of quarantine measures are supposed to be taken are defined by the authority which rules China, not by military fan boys and girls who rule a internet forum. In 2020, thousands of Chinese soldiers involved in a hand-to-hand combat with Indian soldiers. If all these soldiers had been quarantined for that, Indian troops would have already taken over Lhasa since no Chinese troops left to guard the border.

It is just like what I said in my last post: if the time of launch mattered most to Chinese authorities, they would allow workers returning work. But I don't think they except the shipyard manager care it that much.
