Therefore, when the banner behind those people saying “002航母工程”, you can guess whatever way you like. But one thing for sure, it does not mean “2nd carrier”. If you really want to translate word for word (which is the wrong way of translating between the two language), then it means “002 carrier project”. Even when translating word for word, it has nothing to do with “Type-001A”! That’s the fact people like you keep ignoring on this forum. And mostly importantly from a natiave Chinese speaker’s understanding the phrase “002航母工程” should really be translated as “Type-002 Carrier Project”. That is why all natiave Chinese speakers have accepted this designation. Whereas, most foreign speaker are stilling insisting on their “logic” on a Chinese designation.
