I haven’t thought about it like that, but the two ships are indeed named after the provinces of Liaoning and Shandong that are across from each other.

Thanks to the CGI, I know the blob on top of the pier in that sat pic was two 054 frigates.
Artistic license was taken significantly in terms of the on deck aircraft relative to the satellite picture, however.

I think the ship labelled as "052D" should be 052B (bow VLS, bow "platform" and amidships angled AshM visible), and the "051B" looks like it is surprisingly possibly 054B (overall length and width, and based on bow CIWS, and shape of main mast).
