Western propaganda is going batshit crazy and westerns don't even know because the west is so anti-science. So let me just boil it down.

Of course the new strain is more deadly. ANY pathogen that becomes more transmissible is more deadly, because the only way a virus retains the same "deadliness" if its more transmissible is an equivalent offsetting decline in the case mortality rate, which does not seem to have happened here. In fact, a virus that has a doubling of transmission rates is worse than a virus that has a doubling in case mortality, because increases in case mortality means the virus kills more infected before they have a chance to infect others. Meanwhile a virus with increased transmission does not just infect more people from the source, but also more and more people in the subsequent chains. This is literally the biggest cover-up I have ever seen in medical history.

Sick man of Europe!
Everyone who complained that the whole "Sick man of Asia" schtick would never apply to "anglos" has to take that back now, lol

The Anglos said that China should be sued for COVID; can europeans and other countries now sue the UK and the US for their own botched response to COVID? Especially now that governance failures in the UK led to a more infectious mutant strain?

Hard to say for the moment. On the one hand, some EU countries have banned or going to ban flights from UK, indicating they are taking this new "strain" as more threatening. On the other hand, China the most stringent country in boarder control, did not report anything about this new "strain" nor any further restrictions on flight from UK. There is something fishy about this new strain being more contiguous.

This new strain is reportedly much more virulent, with far higher infection rates than the ‘normal’ one. Given that this strain seems to be focused primarily in Kent, and the south of the UK, I think it is very likely that this strain originated in the continental EU, but was just first sequenced and identified by the UK.

It’s incredibly depressing to see such a horrid trend developing where nations are getting punished for being the first to identify and report on new virus and strains.

Although does feel like Karma for the part the UK did in blaming China for their own fuck ups.

The propoganda machine is in full swing on this one to try and take the heat off the Brits. On tonight's BBC news, John Sudworth (hate that creep) already doing a piece on Wuhan and Chinese doctor, and showing his "news car" being stopped going into sensitive areas. All this in the middle of the biggest crisis in the UK in the south of England. Talk about deflecting heat on to China.

China's Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine proves effective in Brazil trials - WSJ
(Reuters) - Chinese vaccine maker Sinovac Biotech's COVID-19 vaccine has shown to be effective in late-stage trials in Brazil, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, citing people involved in the vaccine's development.
Sinovac and AstraZeneca Plc's vaccine candidates may be ready for use in Brazil by mid-February, the country's health minister said last week.

Brazil is the first country in the world to complete late-stage trials of Sinovac's vaccine, CoronaVac, which is also being tested in Indonesia and Turkey, the Journal reported

.
Sao Paulo state's Butantan Institute is organizing the late-stage trials of CoronaVac in Brazil.

The results from the Brazil trials put CoronaVac above the 50% threshold that international scientists deem necessary to protect people, the Journal report said.
Butantan is poised to announce on Wednesday CoronaVac's efficacy rate, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Butantan Institute and Sinovac did not immediately respond to Reuters' requests for comment.

Failure to control the virus in time gives the virus time enough to evolve.

The UK is getting the Brexit level they didn't expect.

I live in the south of England, and the Brits had nearly a whole year to get this mess sorted out. Alas, no we got the Boris in charge, and he, like Trump, try to talk it down. We seen in the summer, the beach of a towns of Bournemouth and Brighton full of people. Anyone with more than half a dozen brain cell could have told you it ain't going to end well.

Yet, The Brits continues to play politics worry about their economy. Anyone remember the show they gave to the world by sending planes to "rescue" their citizens from China, only to fall flat on their face when the coach drivers picking these rescue people from China driving around in his uniform, while everyone else had full protected gear for the cameras. You can't make this up.

Sadly their virus responses have no bearing on public opinion of their China policy

I guess it's like Hitler, they were all onboard with him killing the Jews

They fine with Trump making the mexicans and Chinese suffer, everything else is worth it

As harsh as this will sound, if they have no capacity to embrace the truth and stop there racism against China (since really what good is that going to do given that the virus is only discovered in China, not created in China, a fact that cannot stop and lie about) then the UK is quite frankly finished and soon ripe for being divided into smaller nations, a fate that is very likely to hit the USA as well in the not so distant future. I guess this is considered pay back for all the harm these nations have done to China while using there media to paint themselves as the heroes while continuously spitting on China . Funny as it sounds, the media is going a good job in confusing people so much that even now in the time of an ultra crisis, they still pretend the crisis isn't real and the problem, even with a vaccine that may or may not work, isn't going to get any better. Hence no sympathy for them and I guess they should really start to think about saving there own lives and not keep on angering those that could help them if they are even remotely capable of humility (but then again, they are most definitely not)

Hence I guess the real irony of the whole thing is, is that now is the time when all this deflection and blame shifting is currently blowing up in there faces (at long last I might add) and they simply refuse to ask for help because it would ultimately spell out the the American/British people that maybe their system needs an adjustment that ensures leadership shouldn't be something that a wealthy idiot can pay for to get in, but rather a man of substance and actually experience although I am not very sure where they can find those anymore with how messed up there logic has now become.
