I can see where you are from. You giving a totally misleading picture of Singapore.
Why do Singapore politicans need to fix and rig elections if they are so good?
And control all the papers there and fix all kinds of rules?
and draconian laws.
A collection of 2 persons is counted as a riot.
And only folks like you can write into the papers there that life in Singapore is so good and paradise on Earth.
Anyone saying anything else will not be printed.

I do not care to argue with you or to see anymore of your posting again
I think it would be better if you will stick to the topic and not lace your posts with political innuendoes against the Singapore government.
Though some of your points may have merit but this is not the thread to have them.
And yes, I am from Singapore.

"Boris Johnson is expected to unveil a new colour-coded alert system as he eases some lockdown restrictions, and is set to drop the government’s “stay at home” messaging in favour of “stay alert” – sparking further accusations of mixed messaging and immediate rejections from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland."

Anyone else feel that they woke up in Bizarro world? I'm still aghast that they're loosening the lockdown even though we had 693, 649, 539, 626, 346 as the last five days of death count over here in the UK. Unbelievable.

Surprisingly fair and neutral piece from Australian former prime minister, Kevin Rudd regarding the "Man-made virus from Wuhan lab" proposed by Trump and Pompeo.

Highlights of this piece is that intelligence agencies are trying to distant themselves from Trump/Pompeo's accusation.

The Murdoch media’s China coronavirus conspiracy has one aim: get Trump re-electedKevin Rudd

News Corp is campaigning full-bore for the US president, with reports of a Wuhan lab ‘intelligence’ dossier being seeded across its empire

hahaha Hendr... why don't you go live in your Communistic Paradise

I had lived in Communism, so now it's your turn LOL
The last time China practice true Communism was in 1978. That was the year Deng Xiaoping carried out economic and political reforms which changed China to what is known as State Capitalism. It brought about rapid economic growth and much higher Living Standards.

I have nothing against Taiwan. I think Taiwanese people are some of the nicest and most courteous people in the world. It’s the DDP that is the problem. I don’t know if they are simply naive or the biggest liars in the world. Most likely both. Either way, evil, stupid and incompetent.

Wit regard to the COVID-19 situation in Taiwan. Yes, they have done a good job. However, that’s mostly because they have been lucky. They were lucky that the virus originally came from China. The DDP is against China. Because of that, China had stopped most of the travel between the mainland and Taiwan last year. So not so many mainlanders going over to Taiwan to begin with. Then the DDP has no issue implementing the harshest border closure because of their anti-China policies. So I’m not surprised at all that they did a nice job containing the outbreak at the beginning. Then when the pandemic stemmed from Europe and Americas, they lost control a little because they could no longer implement the kind of harsh border closure with the Mainland. So for the most part, Taiwan is doing a good job on the COVID-19 because of their anti-China political view, not because of their governing competence.

As you are most likely aware, when it comes to the actual governing, the DDP has been a huge mess. With the masks, with the currently going on economic stimulating packages, with the recent Kim Jong-Un theatric, etc. Anything that has something to do with the actual governing, the DDP has managed to make a huge mess. Taiwan has a population of merely 23 million. Yet, the DDP is making it look like they are trying to manage a population of 23 billion... No other country in the world has made a huge fool of themselves like the DDP government. In another word, incompetence.
If they are as bad as you suggested, then how come they won the last elections?

Trump also won the last election. And despite all his incompetence and the disastrous handling of the covid-19, he still has a fairly good chance to win the reelection in November. So?

Taiwan either got lucky or they're lying. Given that Taiwanese travel to the mainland all the time and Taiwan claims they closed the border in time, what does it say when Europeans are saying that coronavirus has been around in Europe back in October? If it started in China like they're still saying then how come Taiwan wasn't hit more given they didn't shut off until 3 months later and had little cases? What it says is it didn't start in China or else many from Taiwan would've carried it back home if China were the epicenter.

Anyone read on the barley tariff issue witj Australia. I say China should just press on with it and show the Aussie that China is not a pushover you can bully easily.

Since Australia is openly working to contain China via The Quad and nonsense like Indo-Pacific, it is only right for China to return in kind.

Despite the fact that NZ is in full agreement with Australia's stance, our deputy PM Winstone Peters (it was Peters that went to Washington to implore Trump to push back against China in the Pacific) assures us that President Xi has told him that there will be no retaliation for our stance in wanting an investigation and reinstatement of Taiwan to the W.H.O.

Hmmmm I'm beginning to think Peters is beginning to sound like Trump.

@weigh2000 "Trump also won the last election. And despite all his incompetence and the disastrous handling of the covid-19, he still has a fairly good chance to win the reelection in November. So? "

For those of us who know very little about Taiwan, it would be nice to see some facts that support Vesicles opinion that's all.
