Anybody read Art of the Deal? What chapter is this? If the facts suck, create "alternative facts." USA's screwed beyond all redemption so let's make stuff up and talk about other countries instead! LOL

Nice logic too; I wish a reporter would just ask him, "Which is bigger, California State or New York City? Which one has more coronavirus deaths? You wanna rethink your logic for why China has more deaths than the US?" It would have been hilarious to watch him stand there with a dumb look or defer to, "I don't know, that's what somebody told me. That's just what they told me."

Without supplying evidence, Trump says China has more coronavirus deaths than the U.S.

“We don’t have the-most-in-the-world deaths,” Trump said during Friday’s briefing of the White House coronavirus task force. “The most in the world has to be China.”

“It’s a massive country,” he went on. “It’s gone through a tremendous problem with this, a tremendous problem. And they must have the most.”

Coronavirus: Chinese writer hit by nationalist backlash over diary about Wuhan lockdown
  • Award-winning novelist and poet Fang Fang accused of fuelling Western criticisms of China’s handling of the Covid-19 outbreak
  • Her Wuhan Diary, first published online, is now set to be released in both English and German

with an interesting description of "the art of censorship":

Lack of evidence and refusal to acknowledge one's own action or in the case, lack of action. Nothing new, another day another slander.

And yet my country has defied the rest of the world in it's handling of the China virus.

I'm in Australia.....

Search Vic Gov in Aus.

Sorry you cant occupy the space I do....

Oh boy. Apparently you are right and your country really defied the rest of the world in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Actually a shameful act and not something to be so proud of.

Post coronavirus world will be a world rife with retributions and conflicts against China however unjustified it may be, hopefully Xi Jinping can steel himself and his fellow Chinese to prepare for such a long struggle,
I fear for overseas Chinese who lives in western countries, especially those working in sensitive industries in the us, they will be rounded up mccarthy style, and internment camps is not out of question, if i were Xi Jinping i would run a huge propaganda campaign inviting Chinese american scientists and specialists to come back to China, entice them with better salary than what they would get in the us and convince them that there is no future for people like them in the us in the new cold war that without a doubt have start

what would be your number of "Chinese american scientists and specialists" now?

EDIT then googled

"chinese+american+scientists"+number

to see (it's in some book, I have to retype) "By recent accounts, Chinese American scientists make up about 8 percent of the American workforce in science and technology." well the book is from 2006, so googled

american+workforce+in+science+and+technology

to see (now I can at least copy&paste) "NSB indicates that, depending on the definition and perspective used, the size of the S&E workforce varied
between approximately 5.0 million and 21.4 million individuals in 2006—approximately 4-15% of all employed civilians
in the United States (144.4 millionb)."

so if I take the middle of that large interval, then 8% out it is ABOUT one-hundred thousand (actually was back in 2006)

now briefly the funny part, if each of them got 100k per year, it'd be $10b

Guess learning Chinese for oneself and offspring will be a good investment and insurance policy.

*(to avoid clutter) For "Chinese american scientists" as a response to Intrepid. Intrepid's feedback noted.:)

Maybe I'm just an optimist, but I don't see there being much vitriol against China in the world at this moment. All of this noise is coming from one source, and it just happens to be the loudest because this is an English speaking forum. The rest of the world is quite grateful for China's help.

Even with the US, I believe that once things calm down and Americans look back at what happened, they will realize where they went wrong and what they should have done. It's human nature to lash out in times of stress. We become much more rational after some time has passed.
