So the US CDC has finally confirmed what we have suspected all along. Some of the so-called flu death in America had in fact been found to be caused by coronavirus posthumously. Just that they didn't know before because they were never tested. That fits in with previous reports in Japan that a Japanese contracted coronavirus in Hawaii even before the Wuhan outbreak and the Italians discovered that a different strain of the virus had already been circulating in Italy before the arrival of Chinese patients.

CDC director says some coronavirus-related deaths have been found posthumously

During the House Oversight Committee discussion on the novel coronavirus response, the director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said some deaths from coronavirus have been discovered posthumously.

Rep. Harley Rouda asked CDC director Dr. Robert Redfield if it’s possible that some flu patients may have been misdiagnosed and actually had coronavirus.

"The standard practice is the first thing you do is test for influenza, so if they had influenza they would be positive," Redfield said.

Rouda then asked Redfield if they are doing posthumous testing.

Redfield said there has been "a surveillance system of deaths from pneumonia, that the CDC has; it’s not in every city, every state, every hospital.”

Rouda followed up and asked, “So we could have some people in the United States dying for what appears to be influenza when in fact it could be the coronavirus?”

The doctor replied that “some cases have actually been diagnosed that way in the United States today.”

This truly is a bombshell.

I really feel so sorry for the good Americans who will be hapless collateral damage who will get sick and many will die needlessly .
Which can be mitigated had Muricans not been so intent on trying to count coup on China and wasted the 2 months of warning and not even able to get test kits done properly and preparedness worse than 3rd world countries.

The evidence still suggests it's related to the wildlife trade. It's possible that the SARS-COV-2 made the jump from animal to human outside China, somewhere on a wildlife trafficking route from Asia/Africa to China, then started a superspreading event in the Wuhan Nanhua seafood market. But it is still more likely that the first jump occured somewhere inside China and near Wuhan.

Remember COVID-19 is a disease that spreads very fast and place a huge burden on the healthcare system. It cannot be hidden for long. The American healthcare system still hasn't collapsed. It is not impossible that someone in the America had a bad encounter with a bat or other wildlife then pass it to Wuhan without triggering much spreading in the US. But it's extremely unlikely. I don't think we should lower ourselves to the level of Tom Cotton.

The Wuhan market was already thoroughly disinfected on Jan 1.

What we know

The virus jumped from animal to human.
The virus spreads very fast.
Once a lot of people were infected the healthcare system will be overwhelmed.

So the evidence still suggest that the first jump is related to the wild-life trade, and there was no major spread in places with good medical surveillance system before it started to spread in Wuhan. The scenarios

1. Jumped in Wuhan or somewhere near Wuhan
2. Jumped in China but not close to Wuhan, but the patient 0 didn't spread the virus to other city before spreading it to Wuhan.
3. Jumped outside China, but the patient 0 didn't spread the virus to other city before spreading it to Wuhan.

As we assume the patient 0 played some role in wild-life trade, the trip from the place of original jump to Wuhan was likely over land in some truck, not air travel or high speed rail. As the further the original jump was to Wuhan, they more likely patient 0 would spread the disease somewhere else along the way before spreading it to Wuhan. 1 is more likely.
