In my country they start to allow people with Covid to go to work, they just need to wear a mask at work.

I mean in Germany nobody really cares about Covid anymore, when shopping for groceries in Hamburg, maybe one out of 50 wears a mask, nobody really tests for covid anymore and generally the population is "exhausted" from the bad covid policy also due to the fact that every federal state does his own thing instead of a national policy.

I've seen so many people coughing the shit out of their lungs while scanning my groceries and tbh I also dont care anymore, this country is done for economically anyways.

This political resolution is basically just coding the de facto reality onto de jure too.

I also don´t care about it. I have a normal life, go shopping without wearing a mask, or clubbing with over 500 people in the club.
Nearly all of my friends and family members from the age 1 till 77 years got Covid and all of them are still alive.

Looks like you guys have also given up on covid and pretend covid doesn't exist anymore?
We have the exact same here in the Netherlands.

Same. Someone above asked me why I can condone Xi and the team not wearing masks anymore, and this is why. It is not that dangerous anymore, good treatments exist and the vaccine is mostly effective.

I'm not shaming any people for not wearing masks now. In the first few months of epidemic yes. Ofc masks should be worn when dealing with patients, but otherwise its whatever.

It's more like feeling after 2,5 years tired. We went through 3 Lockdowns and it was like a loop. No matter which restrictions, it always came back. The people looked very depressed at that time. Since all the restrictions are over and the street festival began again. I could see happiness in their face again.

The thing is, now we have a good idea on how to treat covid, what it's longer term consequences are and how people need to be protected.

Armed with this knowledge that was earned through sweat and blood by foreigners, China can open up freely while remaining mostly safe.

Of course now is the start of covid season, so its dumb to open right at this moment. But come spring or even by CNY, by that time we will likely see return to business as usual for the whole country.

Don't think with the cost of living crisis in Europe putting corona lock downs on top of it, would mean Europeans would be out for blood.

What changed? Just a few weeks ago, we were talking about how Covid is so dangerous and will cause millions of death if China loosened Zero Covid. Now it’s not dangerous anymore?

Wearing a mask is still one of the best ways to prevent Covid.

Millions no. Because like I said, Chinese healthcare now has (and had since awhile) all the data they need to take care of exacerbated covid cases. Deaths around 100 000 after awhile of disease, maybe.

And that number itself should be further cut down as much as possible, now that there is time due to covid season just starting.

The emphasis has always been on how Chinese health care lags behind US, Japan, etc… therefore zero Covid must be kept to prevent millions of death in densely populated Chinese cities and thus overwhelm the healthcare system. That was the justification for Zero Covid. Read the last 20 pages.

Now, all of sudden it has “all the data it needs” to take care of “exacerbated Covid”. Not much has changed except Xi decided to loosen zero Covid after the party Congress.
