Do you know how that rumour was spread? I saw that shijiazhuang news on douyin. It said the numerous free mass testing pcr sites over there are going to close. Those who want to be tested have to go hospital in future. It was widely seen but based on comments, most seem to accept it. Some complaints and worries but nothing major. They need to better communicate and control rumours
"
Again, unsubstantiated rumours have played a role. Stories have spread that the testing companies are faking PCR results to artificially boost the number of infections in order to make more money.
In the north of the country, the coronavirus rumour mill is also building pressure.
Officials in Hebei Province announced that the city of Shijiazhuang would halt mass testing. But this led to speculation that the population was going to be used, guinea-pig-style, to monitor what would happen if the virus was allowed to spread unchecked."

China Airfares Drop 18% After Covid Rules Eased
For how long will the chinese government will continue with this policy? if the problem is inadequate chinese vaccines, then china should import from moderna or other western vaccine makers. The economic and social cost of continuing this policy far outweights the cost of importing vaccines.“”The area is home to many poorer itinerant labourers. They have complained of not being paid if they are unable to turn up for work, and of food shortages and skyrocketing prices while living under Covid control measures.
For several nights, they'd been tussling with the white-clad Covid prevention enforcement officials, and then overnight on Monday the anger suddenly exploded onto the streets of Guangzhou with a mass act of defiance.””
Importing / not importing vaccines is not the question here. Moderna and other western vaccines did not work correctly (boosters needed every few months, still resulting in high death rate), so importing them will not solve the problem of achieving a safe opening up.For how long will the chinese government will continue with this policy? if the problem is inadequate chinese vaccines, then china should import from moderna or other western vaccine makers.
