question if any of you guys know, how is the new vaccines tailored against these new variants coming along? Its been 6 months since omicron and a year or so since delta, haven't heard much on the MSM about the vaccines for these variants. They fast tracked the original vaccines, wonder if the new ones would be released faster....
China is postponing the 19th Asian Games and the 31st World University Games Summer. New dates are unknown at this point though rumor has it that they will be in 2023.
Meanwhile, the 3rd Asian Youth Games is cancelled.
The Asian Games was planned on Sept 10-25, 2022 in Hangzhou.
The World University Games was planned in Chengdu in June, 2022. It has already been postponed once.
The Asian Youth Games was scheduled on Dec 20-28, 2022 in Shantou. This event has also been postponed once.

So incidence of deaths even from mild infection after 31-120 post-infection is around 0.6%, however the median age of the infected sample group is 60, so this is not act as a good representation of the risk younger infected patient faces. If Covid contributes to increasing death risk, it could explain why excess mortality is high even when Covid deaths is low.

So there should be some build up of diagnosis facilities to monitor and take care of those that got infected with mild symptoms.

Imagine if our parents and your mother's generation were this blasé on losing their kids from any misfortunes treating it as "meh whatever" we'll make another kid if this one dies. That's just the cycle of life. Life is precious.
This is pretty hopeful, if it works as intended, we could stop Covid from infecting the lungs and nose which would prevent it to spread via air particles, significantly decreasing their capability to spread. Does anyone have any news on how China's nasal vaccine project is going?
That's you dude but not everyone will able take it so easily, I remember in the news that some guy threatened to shot and kill nurses and doctors in an hospital just because hospitals ICUs where full and there was no more room for his dying mother gasping for air. Some people are not so willing to let a family member just die and panic will set in. If China is willing to take that route, they will have to censor the crap out the outbreak and even give lengthy jail time to whistleblowers. But probably that will not be necessary as the majority older people get vaccinated and boosted in the coming months, they will enjoy stronger immunity than even younger people who vaccinated early.
