Atleast force the old at gunpoint to get vaxxed first before sacrificing them to the altar of GDP
I would recommend seize their wealth or assets, send them to the countryside, tax their extended family, anything to get the elderly to get vaxxed (with special exemptions for allergy).
Until the government forces the elderly to vaccinate, I don't expect much improvement.
You get 1 month of hard lockdown, then some old people are scared and go to vaccinate, then covid is contained, old people feel safe, then they stop vaccinating.
Its like playing whack-a-mole
There's been a frequent occurrence of domestic news about community volunteers setting up to vaccinate the elderly by going door to door, the strategy currently being employed might be using social pressure tactics to get them to vaccinate and giving them easier direct access to vaccination. Hopefully it works out or they might have to actually do more coercive and restrictive means to get them to vaccinate.
The White House is sounding the alarm and asking for new funding to the tune of $22 BILLION from Congress since according to their latest modeling America could potentially see around 100 MILLION NEW CASES OF COVID-19 this fall and winter. Plus, there's a rising but VERY RARE HEPATITIS cases that's so far confine to attacking young unvaccinated American Children affecting all but 14 States.
New York City for example has seen it's cases rising about 33% up for the past week that it's current Mayor is seriously looking into mask and vaccine mandates back on the table if the upward trend of Covid-19 cases continues.
Why does this piece of news important? It's to pistol whip the idiots who keep yammering about China's zero covid-19 policy and Chinese both in and out of China who keeps using American failures as examples worthy to be emulated. And as I have said in my previous posts, only the dumb self-hating Chinese would continue to cling on that unfounded American super duper competence that only exist in Hollywood.

I mean the world's number 1 goal right now should be finding a way to reduce COVID to common flu levels of deadliness... Lockdowns are not a permanent solution. Getting infected, reinfected, and reinfected again ad infinitum is also not viable.
Medicines, monoclonal cocktails, a relatively strong understanding of long Covid and Covid itself, and a wide array of efficient domestic vaccines that are suitable for everyone will be the keys to ending the lockdown. The flu is manageable because:
1. We understand it very well.
2. It generally can be easily defeated by over the counter medicines and vaccines.
Based on the explanations given by several key Chinese authorities, the Chinese government clearly has a comprehensive plan that is in the form of phases.
I mean their covid policy is handled by expert commitee, and most likely a good/big variety of them (to understand social, economic, medical etc. impacts).
