I am personally in favour of letting the old die. But you know how the West will react? They will have headlines like this > China has failed even with zero covid as millions die. It doesn't matter if we do or don't do it, they will find ways to twist it, that's the nature of their system, propaganda warfare.
That doesn’t make sense. You say that you advocate for, in essence, Darwinism among the elderly and bring up how the West will make horrible headlines about China if they do that. Yet, you believe that it doesn’t matter what China does since the West will twist whatever they do, regardless of the intent. So what is it? Do you care about the West’s opinion of China’s Covid policy or not? Make up your mind. Finally don’t say we. China has always cared for the elderly due to its philosophies and fundamental morals that withstood time and established the Chinese civilization. A person with your mindset isn’t Chinese or even of Chinese descent. Go be something else.

Is not about just protecting the old and frail, is about not letting the healthcare system to be overflowed with patients. Because once that happens is game over, some young people could die too because the lack of care.

The Swedish did that and nobody in the West seems to care.

Those are the Swedes, not the Chinese. Why should China continue to follow Western policies like a dog following its owner?
They Shouldn't, I just find a bit of irony that the country the Western pundits say is an "evil dictatorship" and in that they leaders are "the most evil people alive". Is the country and the leaders that care the most about their people not unnecessary dying. Says a lot about the state of this world.

Ah I see what you mean. Sorry about the sharp tone then. I misunderstood your comment and thought that you meant, “ if the Swedes can do it without Western criticism, then why can’t China do the same?”.

calm down dude, my personal beliefs does not equals Chinese government policy. They have their own calculations and analysis. As a responsible citizen, my job is to follow that policy, as a selfish individual, I don't mind letting people die. Btw, I am in Shanghai now and experiencing it first hand. No matter what we do, the West will just fck us up. Just follow what is right as per government doctrine.

Sorry, but whenever I see scummy beliefs like that, I have no interest in calming down and letting it slide. The fact that you almost seek to take pride in that shows how much of a 文盲, no, a 畜牲, you actually are. At least you have the cajones to admit that you are a selfish and Western attention seeking individual. I’ll give you that. Ignored from now on. I already made my point and derailed this thread a bit. My apologies to the rest of you guys.

Those of you who questions China's current covid policy should stand back and ponder over what it means to let the virus rip through China. I had my friends died in NY and cremated in NJ, not knowing they'd die on an ambulance ride, without ever seeing anyone from family, only a final glimpse via video link at the cremation site, cause of death registered under something else other than Covid. All these misidentified deaths, and other deaths caused by lack of health care due to hospitals overwhelmed by Covid situation are of astounding proportions. You could easily add a million to official one million number in American Covid deaths. Just think about the numbers for China if the virus is allowed to let it rip.
