It will be a nice if they provide a link with sources.

Only 19.7% of people aged over 80 in China have received a COVID-19 vaccine booster as of March 17, and just 50.7% of that age group have completed their primary vaccinations, said Zeng Yixin, another NHC deputy director.
For mainland Chinese aged 60-69, 56.4% have received a booster shot while that falls to 48.4% for those aged 70-79, Zeng said.
He added that there are still 52 million people over 60 who have not completed their primary vaccinations.

According to the National Health Commission, last month more than 44 million people over the age of 60 years remained unvaccinated in China.
That is about 17 per cent of the older population, and the vaccination rates were lower for those aged over 80 years, with around half of that cohort still yet to receive two doses of the vaccine.

Still no a source, But OK, is a problem no having links to any Chinese authoritative source. By example that was from March, it would be nice to see the numbers now in May that will give an indication of the rate of vaccinations.
Also I personally think they shouldn't urge, they should mandate or even force.

Official China CDC data. That graph does seem to be accurate. So from April 6 to May 6 around 3.5 million new vaccination for people over 60 and 2.801 million got fully vaccinated for people over 60.

1.2 million deaths among unvaxxed elderly at 11% mortality rate. What's the point of all these strict lockdowns if you can't even do the lowest hanging fruit (vaccinate all elderly)? My mother-in-law in Shanghai was tested daily, you can serve some extra boosters during those testing sessions or give the unvaxxed their first dose during their daily testing sessions.
Shanghai has setup booths for each community to vaccinate people for all control area. They do understand that it is the best time to convince people to get vaccinated. After the outbreak is over, people tend to again delay or forgo vaccination.

Looks like what CPC fears is not the number of deaths, but the fact that people will realize (and be outraged) that it was all much ado about nothing. When they find that 99% of the people survive and the only people who die were already on their way out anyway and would have died from a regular cold.
You're a fucking idiot dude plain and simple.

Malaysia has recently removed almost all restrictions and has about 1000 daily cases (out of a population of 32 million) with 2 recorded deaths (1 or 2 days ago), which I believe is achieved by getting its adults 18+ population highly vaccinated (98.8%) with about 70% boosted.
Did they removed those restrictions during the Covid wave or after the Covid wave peaked and going down? There's been a pattern of countries removing restrictions after the Covid wave is almost ending, then when Covid cases started going up in the next wave, they start putting restrictions back again.

Personally I'm more concerned of Long covid that can still affect those who are vaccinated or even if the case is mild, because the disabled will be more of a burden than the dead for the economy, but I don't know how significant its effects yet.

I am personally in favour of letting the old die. But you know how the West will react? They will have headlines like this > China has failed even with zero covid as millions die. It doesn't matter if we do or don't do it, they will find ways to twist it, that's the nature of their system, propaganda warfare.
