Well, if the effect is significant we'll be looking at decreased pregnancy rates and increased IVF procedures being done in the future for countries with high accumulated covid cases. I previously posted an article on Covid effect on pregnacy as well, and I think we can say that covid is not only a respiratory disease.
Really makes you think if the virus is just Mother Earth's method for population control.
Oh I don't mean loosen up like Shanghai, but rather increase the threshold needed to start employing lockdown to curb down cases. They should explore other ways to lower the viruses' transmission rate to below R0 of 1 without resorting to lockdowns every time as it is extremely economically damaging, a good model to follow and improve upon is Shenzhen, which managed to keep the virus from going out of control but yet still managed to grow by 2% in Q1 this year. So like restrictions, more testing, building more capacity for isolation and health resources.

With the Omicron, getting a very high percentage (like over 90% of the adults) of the population boosted with the third dose is also very significant. Even 50% boosted won't do as you still have 10 million people (in Shanghai) only double jabbed.
Malaysia has recently removed almost all restrictions and has about 1000 daily cases (out of a population of 32 million) with 2 recorded deaths (1 or 2 days ago), which I believe is achieved by getting its adults 18+ population highly vaccinated (98.8%) with about 70% boosted.
A weak attempt imo. More like optimising the population structure by killing the old and freeing up resources for the more productive youth
In any case, it also works out in thinning out plenty of idiots (also takes smart people too). For example the very old Republicans who were refusing the vaccine and gambled their life on that, are now buried some feet under.

That's the reason why China needs to lock down for at least 6 more months, so they can vaccinate and boost their elderly.
It will be a nice if they provide a link with sources.
