It should be about the same, considering the virus has not yet changed species.

It did change in variant though, severity of Delta is higher than the original variant, and Omicron has a more immune escape and are infecting more younger unvaccinated folks from what I read.

Nope. Not vaccinated. And never going to be.

Why take the risk? To show you are macho? The safety and efficacy data meets the highest standard in science (RCTs) and long-term observational data suggests vaccines are safe and effective, esp. compared to unvaccinated.

I wore mask for 2 years. IMO 2 years is long enough. I'm not going to wear mask for the rest of my life.

If you don't wanna take precautions or get vaccinated. At least be careful by regularly checking whether you got infected. If you ever did get infected, please self-isolate and take care of yourself. and after being cured, take an appointment for a heart and brain doctor to check for long covid and if there's a need for treatment.

Excess deaths is difficult to estimate. First, the lock down disrupted the economy, which caused poverty, which causes deaths. Furthermore, due to population increase, a lot of of the estimated excess deaths is actually increase in natural deaths due to population increase.

Since everyone is staying at home, there are far fewer motor accidents. Excess mortality is undercounted, not overcounted.

TIL China can't have Covid19 vaccine mandate in part because none of the vaccines has received full approval, and there's no legal way to mandate a vaccine that only has EUA.

I have been wondering about why mainland does not mandate vaccination. It would make sense if it is due to lack of full approval. Can you share the source?

Nah. I have common cold quite often. I will treat covid-19 as another common cold. I never test anyway.

Opinion: China needs to step in and override the incompetent policy of HongKong. It is no longer about sovereignty and saving face for the agreement. If HongKong is allowed to become crazy it will affect rest of China. It will cause national lock downs and the economic downfall that follows. I think it is worth to break a few promise and get Hong Kong covid down as soon as they can.
