Terrible situation for Filipino and non-Filipino helpers that have been summarily dismissed from their jobs and being left to fend for themselves without any recourse from the HK government, except for the non-governmental office (NGO) that's been able to provide shelter and house these unemployed and sick people.

If China wants or even desires to make inroads to their neighbors and countries around her periphery, they should have their own non-governmental office (NGO) or even better, official CPC government, apparatus that provides meaningful assistance to people China has a testy, challenging relationship with. It would provide the opportunity to build hearts and minds, not to mention showcasing the effectiveness of what the CPC and it's tenets stand for and further distinguishing itself from the almost hurtless Hong Kongers who's reputation on treating their helpers are known to be atrocious. This is one of the "soft power" that can and will make definite dividends in helping China’s image.

So my whole family got covid about a month ago
My dad who is 63 got a little bit of cough and tiredness and felt nothing after 3 days - 3 Pfizer shots

My wife who is pregnant, so weak immune system only had a stuffy nose for 3 days - 2 moderns and Pfizer booster

I had a cough and tiredness for 4 days - 3 Pfizer

My 2 year old who got no vaccine had fever for 1 day and running nose and cough for 4 days.

Basically if you are vaccinated, it is no big deal anymore with omicron

Almost a third of people report lingering symptom 6-12 months after COVID-19 -study

March 4 (Reuters) - Almost a third of people report at least one ongoing symptom between 6 and 12 months after their coronavirus infection, a survey of 152,000 people in Denmark has found.
The study includes one of the largest groups yet of people who were not hospitalised with COVID, and followed them for longer than other major studies, the researchers from Denmark's State Serum Institute (SSI) said.
The questionnaire-based study suggested that the most commonly reported long-term symptoms were changes in sense of smell and taste, as well as fatigue.

Conducted between September 2020 and April 2021, well before the recent Omicron variant surge, the survey compared the responses of 61,002 people who had tested positive for the coronavirus six, nine or 12 months before with those of 91,878 people who had tested negative.
In total, 29.6% of the respondents who had tested positive reported at least one ongoing physical symptom 6 to 12 months after infection, compared to 13% in the control group.

Just over half (53.1%) of those with positive tests said they had experienced either mental or physical exhaustion, sleep problems or cognitive problems within the 6 to 12 months after infection. That compared to 11.5% in the control group.
New diagnoses of anxiety and depression were also more common among those with a history of SARS-CoV-2 infection, the study showed.

@Bellum_Romanum bro the ordeals of our OFW, My apologizes to our members, my comments are my owned personal view and no animosity is intended, aside from Middle eastern countries, HKG and Singapore are the worst offenders. Maybe because of the stress of living in a city state BUT a little respect and dignity goes a long way. And I wish China maintain the ban of hiring foreign domestic help and IF possible a gov't to gov't agreement rather than let private hiring agency take charge.
