Comac doesnt cover all the segments, Europeans would'nt mind rest of the segments being favoured to Airbus rather than Boeing for the next few decades until the invetible.

Current situation and next decade in China civil aviation favour Airbus more than COMAC and Boeing. Thus it is unwise for Europeans to sabotage C919's certification.

COMAC will not be able to make enough C919 for all the needs of Chinese market in next 10 years. Boeing is facing big problems which they might need at least a decade to recover. Airbus thus stand to gain from Boeing's problem while COMAC is still building up their factory production rates.

Take a very optimistic senarios in that COMAC is able to make 100 C919 per year on average for next 10 years. That is 1,000 C919 but China needs around 4,000 passenger jets in next 10 years. They will have to buy the rest from either Boeing or Airbus, and Airbus is the obvious choice.

on Weibo, China Southern Airlines is set to receive their first ever C919 in Q3 this year (July-Sept 2024), with the currently known seating arrangement being J8/W18/Y138.

In contrast, the seating arrangement of C919s in China Eastern Airlines service is C8/Y156.

More low quality take

who writes this kind of articles or charts anyways?

everyone knows that a new aircraft entering service has lower utilization. And also length of flight matters

It's the statistics from Eastern airline

i understand it's the stats, but the interpretation of stats is the problem here. New aircraft from a new airliner is expected to have lower utilization, especially at the beginning and many of these aircraft only have a couple of months of service time. It will take a while for them to sort through all the problems. This is all expected

7月3日,在役6架全上场,带来了商业运营以来最高的日航段数字——

1、B-919A 虹桥-广州-虹桥-西安-虹桥 4段;
2、B-919C 虹桥-大兴-虹桥 2段 ;
3、B-919D 虹桥-天府-虹桥 2段;
4、B-919E 虹桥-西安-虹桥-西安-虹桥 4段;
5、B-919F 虹桥-天府-虹桥-天府 3段;
6、B-919G 天府-虹桥-天府-虹桥 3段。

6架执飞,共飞行18段。
18 legs among 6 aircraft (so 3 per day). Still working themselves up but we are probably at 75% of what you'd expect for narrowbody mainline aircraft

Does it mean only 5 airports in the world have the ground support capability for C919? I think this factor also contributes to the low sortie rate. The other big factor will be limited availability for qualified pilots and air crews.
