Chinese Video/Computer Games

My understanding is that games in China tend to be cheaper than those in the west (and even western countries vary by country).

If you look at AAA games on steam in China versus steam elsewhere currently, for example Elden Ring, it's some 20 USD cheaper.

I wouldn't be surprised if its release price in the US would be nearly 60 USD
Woah didn't know Blitzo has any time for games :O

Even so, some people still think it's "too expensive."
This is China's very first 3A game, so the main concern is whether the game's quality can meet the demands.
Of course, another bitter reality is that the business model of mobile/online games has already encroached on the space of PC games. People have become accustomed to the existing payment model rather than spending money on a game with quality risks.
What definition of AAA are you using? The most commonly used definition is simply the amount of money used during the development of a game. You might be loathe to hear this but Genshin is already considered a AAA game; at least on reddit.

So for those following, yesterday’s launch of Wuthering Waves did not go as planned as people found out they copied Genshin Impact in all the ways that turned people off of Genshin Impact (infodump dialogue, gacha mechanics, art style) in addition to having a flawed technical release, full of game breaking bugs and crashes.

“Due to the quality issues of Wuthering Waves, CN genshin players have started to apologize to Genshin Impact.”

The public heavily underestimated how difficult and expensive it is for Mihoyo to launch their games as a near bug-free live service experience with new content every 2 weeks.

I'm gonna play the devil's advocate here. Not gonna defend them on the bugs and glitches but everything else said is laughable. The Gacha ain't even original in Genshin when games like Arknights and Azur Lane did it years before. People who say art is the same need to get their heads checked because there are no facts in this, even a child can tell the difference in art style. As for the info dump, it's purely subjective.

Gameplay demo of Phantom Blade 0. Looks amazing! Chinese games have come really far from gacha games to this.

No release date yet, but it's probably coming out next year, which is concerning since it might be overshadowed by GTA VI.
