Premier Li Qiang discussed how to develop China's game industry with Feng Ji, producer of Black Myth: Wukong & founder of GameScience, in the West Science and Innovation Corridor in Hangzhou last week.

as i told earlier, a big shift happening in mainland. now even government supporting entertainment industry. just like industrial development in the past.

That's amazing. There's hitting it big, and then there's "hitting it so big the premier of the country comes to talk to you" big.

Even though this is a game thread, I’d like to introduce a series called 凡人修仙传 (A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality) to fellow SinoDefence forum members. This 3D animation series, adapted from a novel of the same name, has set a new benchmark for 3D animation in the Chinese animation industry(凡人之后再无修仙) . In fact, it has been said to surpass the novel after around episode 60 ish.

The series has maintained its position as the top-ranked title on the Chinese streaming platform Bilibili for 3–4 years. Featuring a cultivation theme, it boasts exceptional animation quality, 文戏(that is very aptly in tune with Chinese culture), and an outstanding background score.

The plot and character development are particularly impressive. I believe it’s well worth sharing here.

Season4 is coming Jan 2025( Hearsay a significant portion of Bilibili's revenue are dependent on fanren series)

(This youtube has eng sub for ep 1-72, but might be IP locked)

(telegram channel has all Ep1-124 covering season 1 to 3, but Eng + Chinese subtitles)

The highly anticipated real life action drama is also coming next month, starting Yangyang.

For peak Chinese animation, see fog hill of five elements, done by a small team, the style is intrinsically Chinese while also having jaw dropping visuals. The downside is that the period between new content is measures in years.

In terms of best visuals, I think Ling's Cage still takes the top. It also has some amazing actions and is grim and dark as hell.

Here's a PV into Season 2 which is supposed to come out next year.

What a nice Christmas present, Where Winds Meet just released in China today. Be interesting to see Chinese player's impressions. Interesting that they decided to go with the F2P route and there was some apprehension about Netease, but seeing as how well Netease handled Marvel Rivals ' monetization then if Where Winds Meet can nail the gameplay we might have another hit. Just surprised how little marketing this game has gotten.
