It is not about being PC or not, it’s about whether they coughed up 7 million USD in bribe money to Sweet Baby Inc.
Whole event is just US China relationship in a miniature version.

US: demands out of nowhere China to pay fines, insert their agents and backdoors into their products.

China: No. :3 *proceeds to swim away in money and market clout

US: *proceeds to release dustborn, concord and star wars outlaws like products as "replacement" for the Chinese one

Rinse and repeat.

Wow. I just started reading about this whole Genshin Impact controversy. If the developers did create the world to reflect real cultures, they certainly walked into that one. It looks completely like an anime fantasy world so I'm not sure where the cultural appropriation is coming from maybe except for the names. You know how much stuff out there would have to be changed or not used at all because a name sounded like or was borrowed from another culture? It ain't no one way street either. I recall something on the news that happened where some Asian was accused by some professional athlete of cultural appropriation and then the Asian quickly quipped telling the athlete to remove his tattoos of Asian characters off his body.

I love Tiger Vanguard cussing here.
Question for any Northern Chinese, is 妈了个巴子 a specific Shanxi phrase? I recall Yan Xishan is depicted using the phrase in TV shows and he's a Shanxi warlord. Also Zhang Zuolin is famous for using that phrase every second sentence and he has a "Tiger" nickname.

Tiger Vanguard is a Siberian Tiger 东北虎, so it's appropriate for him to speak the Dongbei dialect. 妈了个巴子 is Dongbei dialect for sure.

The attention to details in BMW is just incredible!
