I know tha this plane is from Canada. Just bought 2 month ago and she is on the way to France via a container.
The markings on the aircraft are not same as PLAAF, does the aircraft comes with documentation on its history like year of manufactured, ownerships etc?

Bird strike on canopy of JL9 during a training flight over a valley at 100m altitude. The aircraft belonged to Navy Aviation University and was used in training aircraft carrier based pilots. Date of incident unknown, instructor and trainee pilot were both safe.

A very good illustration on why navy fighters generally prefer framed canopies to frameless. The added structural strength can make all the difference during bird strikes, especially against larger seabirds. Even smashed, a framed canopy can provide some protection for the pilots whereas a frameless canopy will just completely disintegrate due to airflow sheer forces on it even if it partially survived the initial impact.

Yes, Julio, you're right, they could end up with subsonic aircraft because of the cost, but if I'm not mistaken, the official FAU requirements are for supersonic aircraft.

Sabredog:

The main requirement of the FAU is Radar. As far as I'm concerned, the L15 with radar is a prototype, as is the L 15 with after burning. Integrating avionics, in this case Radar and any other system that you want to add, takes time, time that we do not have since our A 37 are already in the last ones.

Isn't L-15B exported to Zambia already have radar? And the original engines have afterburners but PLAAF chose the non-afterburner engine for their trainer version. Also, Isn't L-15B capable of supersonic flight if afterburner engine is installed?

The Zambian L-15Z is a subsonic, non-afterburning variant of the L-15 as confirmed with this interview with the Zambian Air Force. It does appear to have some sort of radar from photos posted here, but I do not believe anybody has been able to confirm which radar it is other than compatibility with PL-5EII all aspect WVRAAM as well any many guided air-to-surface munitions.
