Reading between the lines:this is potentially very serious as it looks like a veiled threat of a nuclear first strike on not NK but China as the only way to stop China's rise/ascendancy"Ooops meant that Trident 2 warheads for Pyongyang but took out Tianjian,Shanghai,Beijing,Shenyang instead.....I get nightmares" and I wouldn't put it past these monsters.

No, US is very unlikely to ever use nukes because their nazism has rendered them so hated across the globe, they always need to nuke dozens of countries if they want to nuke just one.

If what you describe above happens, US would be defenseless to a horde of Mexicans/Iranians/South Americans/Arabs/Russians etc. Which could just travel by boat or foot into the crippled USA and then start colonizing the survivors as revenge.

So US needs to use 1000s of nukes every time it wants a MAD exchange, simply trading with China is insufficient.

If anyone risks being nuked in this century, it's Japan and maybe South Korea. North Korea is China's nuclear alt account. If Japan tries to develop WMDs, North Korea will just straight up nuke their facilities. If China does it themselves, they will look insane and unreasonable. But NK is already considered a "loose cannon".

There's a reason why Japan and SK hate NK to such extreme degree. NK is a containment system, as long as it exists in its current form, no Asian country can acquire a weapon that could threaten the Mainland.
