Honestly, from my experience browsing the internet. Most of the vitriol towards the Chinese nowadays (besides the obvious NED propagandists and hanjians) comes from Mr. Elephant, Mr. Chicken and Mr. Stick instead of Mr. Eagle. Even racist Americans are polite enough to preface by saying "We hate the CCP, not the Chinese people", I have never seen this kind sentiment from Uncle Sam's minions, they just spew hate on the China and the Chinese people.
I know which country is the elephant (even though it fancies itself as a lion) but which country is the chicken and the stick?

When you're rich and powerful, you can do anything you want and people will still like you.
When you're weak and poor, people will despise you whatever you do.
This is the fundamental truth.
Correction: "When you're weak but act like you're already a supapowah while your people is struggling with employment, economic mismanagement, acute food insecurity PEOPLE IN THE COUNTRIES YOU TRIED TO IMPRESS UPON will despise you. That's the fundamental truth.

US is still the sole superpower.
What's the definition of a superpower? America's surely no longer the hegemon since Pax Americana has basically ended with the world no longer at peace and America unable to make China or Russia yield. In terms of other things, America still holds a hefty lead in the Old Boys' Club, diplomatically speaking, and militarily, nobody bullies small countries all over the world like the US. But in terms of science, economics, actually building things, it's already behind China in more areas than not.

IMO US still enjoys substantial militarily advantages over China, as well in terms of cultural influence. Economically, they are more or less on even terms.

I also don't believe China can be considered a superpower until it brings Taiwan under its control. You can't be a superpower when your no.1 adversary has troops stationed on your territory without your consent.

I would classify US as still a sole superpower, and China and Russia as regional powers, with China having a great potential to become a superpower in the future.
