what is that board for?there's some bugs in China self sufficiency supply chain in mature chips
First one is widely relying on Wifi/bluetooth frontend transceiver from taiwan. The one with metallic cover shield on the board.

TV box.what is that board for?
I dont think is an issue. But I understand the concern, given that the US puppet there, the DPP, is basically gifting that island semiconductor industry to the stooges in the US.TV box.

AP6275P is a low cost Wifi/BT chip on boards costing <$20 USDthere's some bugs in China self sufficiency supply chain in mature chips

The second is HUawei Wifi 7 router using qualcomm network chip.

高通无线网络芯片(QCN6224)
There is some sense to what you are saying, but I'm reminded of something I read somewhereChina companies won't do anything until being sanctioned.
Like Huawei make its cellphone all domestic components because being sanctioned. Its router not being sanctioned, so it doesn't care,
Still using qualcomm.
China and its companies needed to be pushed to the limit because they are not very proactive like US, it will ban every single chip from China.
Depending on the volume even if less than $20. If China makes its own it means more jobs internally.AP6275P is a low cost Wifi/BT chip on boards costing <$20 USD
How much do you think the cost of that chip is?
You probably make more money selling a bag of potato chips.
A TV Box needs external interface, but I noticed many Chinese IOT devices are using fully integrated SOC with BT/Wifi/Zigbee-Thread (ESP32 series)
If there is a ban, then they will make it, it's not outside of their capabilities

There is a popular story that China cannot not make the metal ball for ballpoint pens. It is debunked as an American BS story. The reality is not an issue with technical ability, the issue is scale, no Chinese steel company wants to waste money to serve a mature market.
If foreign commodity chips become sanctioned, now the domestic market becomes stronger.
Yes, different animals, but my point is that the technical ability exists.Depending on the volume even if less than $20. If China makes its own it means more jobs internally.
Well, TSMC pretty much severed the tie with China, so it makes no sense still doing business with other smaller lesser players in taiwan.
ESP32 is very small and low power for IOT.
BOx for TV required more throughput and power. different animals.
China is entering war time economy. So, it needs to do everything on its own. Waiting to be sanctioned first before doing anything sounds lame and sissy.
