Chinese tech giant Huawei's new system HarmonyOS's upgrade may only support phones with Kirin 710 or newer chips, according to a well-known digital blogger on Weibo.
This means that the upgrade will be pushed to Huawei and Honor phones with Kirin 810, Kirin 820, Kirin 820E, Kirin 980, Kirin 990, Kirin 985, and Kirin 9000 chips, according to the blogger "@长安数码君".
The above-mentioned upgraded phones are only a tentative list and may be changed later, according to the blogger.
Huawei announced at the recent foldable-screen phone Mate X2's launch that it will push HarmonyOS upgrades for Huawei's flagship models from April this year.
In 2021, the HarmonyOS system will cover 200 million Huawei cell phone products, according to Wang Chenglu, president of Huawei's Consumer BG Software Department, in a press interview, adding that more than 90% of Huawei models currently on the market will be upgraded with the HarmonyOS system.

@gelgoog hear you bro, the decision to form a consortium of Chinese Science academy, private sector and equipment manufacturer is a good step forward.
Maybe just sanction these unreliable Japanese suppliers.
Cetc production of lithography equipmnent in 2021 is 20 including 2 machines for 65nm and rest of 18 for 0.13um, 0.35um. 65nm probably for logic, but majority of them are for power semiconductor such as IGBT , bipolar technology for power management.
That's guarantee for China industrial control, appliances and military control.
China still can compete with US even without high end semiconductor.

All this is handled by SpaceX and that it seems they are making progress with their Starship program. Expect that when that is completed the US gov and Us mil will start throwing trucks full of money outside Elon house to start doing all these things.
And there is one thing that China Militarybshould fear from Starship. That is if the US Military contract SpaceX to accomplish theirs Rods of God program. If they can do the Rods of God program then thats game over for China
