what if the source of that rumor... is here?
@HybridHypothesis yes!!!! our foremost member @WTAN @foofy @Oldschool to name a few. Bro stay tune if you browse this thread you may discover that all our talking points had come true and more in the future... , last year the discussion is intense as multiple ban had been place on Chinese tech company so the sowing of the seeds of tech independence had been planted, this year there will be some harvesting as some of the tech had ripen, 2022 will be the expected date of the full harvest, with the right environment (gov't policy) I think the harvest will be successful.;)

I always thought italy would be the one to leave the EU next, but I wouldnt be surprised if Germany would be the one to break the EU in half and leave if it meant losing out on the SCO, BRI and EEC markets.
@BlackWindMnt For me Spain, but they backtrack when the EU didn't support the Catalonia independence bid so there is a quid pro quo. They are punishing UK right now as a warning to other member states, It's easy to join in but hell is you want to get out, Its like joining the Mafia or Yakuza, You have to pay the price for the entitlement.

Samsung is using EUV to manufacture DRAM.

As Samsung's use of EUV increases so will their need for EUV equipment. Intel is another company which has been lagging with older nodes for years. But if they do get to 5nm eventually then they will need a lot of EUV equipment. IIRC the Japanese have sold DUV machines to Intel in the past, so it isn't impossible it would happen again. The Japanese have their own lithography tools vendors like Nikon.

@gelgoog bro thanks for the info, I may sound racist but they (I mean the US) will never allow the Japan to hog the limelight again, they had block the Japanese participation in the EUVL consortium, they don't trust the Japanese. It should serve as a reminder for the Taiwanese, they don't trust you either.

TDM got the info from T*m F*wdy, who presumably got the info from folks like @WTAN on this forum (most likely), or is close with insiders in the CN semiconductor industry. Either way, more and more info on progress is streaming out as months go by.
Did TDM say he got it from Tom Fowdy?

US is talking with Japan, Korea, and Taiwan to form the semiconductor alliance. The objective is keep China from getting the advance stuffs for its semiconductor development.

China must try to avoid japanese components and materials for its equipment development . It's not safe.
Do not use Japan's photoresist and gipgaphonton light source. They probably won't be available anyway.

As I mentioned in my previous thread, denying Korea and Taiwan market share in China will hamper their further developemnt in EUV.

Their objective is to keep China from getting the advanced stuffs and yet want to sell the finished products in China to finance their development
