I'm telling you guys, the Americans are fanatical about remaining #1.

They have a remarkable ability to get other countries to do their bidding while giving nothing in return.

China has awoken the sleeping giant. She needs as much population, GDP growth, research investment/talent, allies, etc. as she can get. It's basically a wartime situation without the shooting now.

Do not underestimate the determination of the US to suppress China.
It's futile in the long run

Technology is getting close to the physical limitation. Barrier mankind can't overcome.

China will eventually catch up.

Most Americans (like Chinese) are more concerned with their day-to-day lives, rather than being number 1.

They have a remarkable ability to get other countries to do their bidding while giving nothing in return.

And previously the USA was much bigger and dominant in terms of economics, trade, military, currency etc.
So the USA didn't have to give anything in return, in order to get what it wanted.
But now China is larger than the USA is most respects.

China has awoken the sleeping giant. She needs as much population, GDP growth, research investment/talent, allies, etc. as she can get. It's basically a wartime situation without the shooting now.

Do not underestimate the determination of the US to suppress China.

And you can say the same of China.
Previously, the Chinese people saw the US as benign or friendly.
Now the US is actively hostile in trying to keep the Chinese people poor and technologically backward.
And that viewpoint has filtered down into the population.

It's the USA which should be afraid of what China will unleash in the coming years.
Remember China already spends more on R&D than the USA, and we're going to continue seeing explosive growth in the coming years

I think you've been in the USA too long.

Technological prowess I’d say is measured by GDP per capita which is mostly a function of productivity per person.

That said, China’s GDP per capita is skewed lower due to people born in the Mao days.

30 years China can quadruple GDP per capita with a depreciating dollar and population. Embracing automation will aid this goal.

It’d would be ridiculous if China reached US tech levels at 10k gdp per capita.

Just years ago West felt china had no chance and Chinese left China because they had no hope either.

Now the narrative has shifted to a matter of when will China dominate.

We can see that China's GDP per capita is hugely skewed between the richer coast and the poorer interior.
We can expect the interior to reach at least $20K per capita in the coming years, which will drive growth.

Right, so basically, if you're doing better than them and may surpass them (without attacking them in any way), that awakens their enmity and they become extremely bitter and paranoid. That sounds really really nice to me. I personally like finding friends and investing in relationships with people who will quickly turn into my enemies and stop at nothing to suppress me if I happen to be doing better than them, don't you? Troll

Why has this shill @gadgetcool5 not responded to this point? Obviously because he knows its true and that his position has no real merit.

The bigger question is why the moderators @Deino continue to let him be around. Others have been banned for much less.

The tool is not helping the quality of sdf one bit.

I didn't respond to the point because I don't want to continue this conversation. But the answer is, while America may become bitter and paranoid against those who will surpass them, that bitterness and paranoia will come a lot faster and be worse in nature if you don't cultivate good relations with them. By cultivating good relations, China can buy itself time and improve America's stance towards it in marginal but significant ways. Now let's get back on topic please. I have nothing more to say about this.

You start a nonsense conversation by saying contradictory things, then can't continue it because your points are beaten (ironically by your other points), and then you want to get the last word in?! LOLOLOL Are you still unable to understand the paradox that you can't cultivate good relationships with a country that you self-admitted cannot tolerate your rise above it unless you are willing to submit to it? Simple conflict of interest: Pepsi can coke hate each other; Burger King and MacDonalds hate each other.

Probably since no-one reports his posts and since none of us moderators cares much about these "politically infected" threads. Would it go per my will all these threads would be closed.

As such, I don't read them and only come by whenever a post is reported. So instead of asking questions, why nothing is done ... better simply report such posts!
