More study on diamond material, this time paired with copper as a heat dissipating substrate for radar electronics equipment

by subbing this new substrate for the Al substrate that typically gets used, it was found that when heat flux density increased from 100W/cm2 to 1000 W/cm2, the temperature difference increased from 4.84 deg to 57.38 deg C. So clearly, this new material allows for dissipation of heat and for higher powered radar equipment

JCALLY JM11 Digital Audio Adapter TYPE-C To 3.5mm 8 Core Gold Silver Cable Code Chip SPV4040 Support Mic Phone Call

Interesting new listing on AliExpress for audio dongles. The SPV4040 chip inside appears to be the first high end Chinese audio DAC chip to appear on the market. All the existing ones are primarily from American companies like Cirrus Logic and Synaptics.

Unfortunately public information on the DAC is nonexistent besides the dongle listing. Would be interesting if someone got one and ran some tests and tore it down.

Hifiman has its own 'soft' FPGA-based DAC using domestic FPGA. It tests terribly but they sell it as 'replicating 90s discman feel'.

Chinese specialist vendors like Topping or SMSL produce extremely good DACs. But I bet they won't use domestic chips if they test bad. Every new product they make is instantly benchmarked by enthusiasts, and they won't want to ruin their reputation.

There are a lot of uses for DAC outside hifi products though.

Yeah, will be interesting to see if this domestic SPV4040 DAC chip is adopted by any of those companies. The numbers on the AliExpress listing aren’t very competitive compared to something like a CX31993 which you can get for half the price.

So now OPC is another bottleneck
While export rules may delay Beijing's progress, industry experts say, they are unlikely to stunt China's development of chip technology. "The U.S. is lying across the tracks in an effort to stop the Chinese, but it is just going to become a speed bump," said Michael Bruck, a former general manager in China for chipmaker Intel Corp. "It will push China to be more independent."
