SMEE delivers 28NM photolithography machine.

I can't read Chinese, but I can use google translator. There is no mention of "delivered" in the translated document.

It is not an official announcement by SMEE but from a shareholder:

Zhangjiang Group is the fourth largest shareholder of Shanghai Microelectronics. After the news broke, Zhangjiang Group's share price soared 8%.

and it seems the original article was later edited and revised by the author

However, Zhangjiang Group later revised the article. The current article removed the statement about 28 nanometers and changed it to: "As the only domestic company that masters lithography machine technology, Shanghai Microelectronics is committed to developing advanced lithography machines.”

Sorry, I don't want to downplay your post. Everybody here is waiting for this news, and because it is very sensible and very important great care should be taken to filter out noise and rumors from official or at least very clear announcements.

BTW it is also very possible that SMEE will not announce anything. For instance I expect exactly this: SMEE or equivalent officials will not announce the machine until is in full production, and IMHO until SMEE production capacity will not be ramped up. It's quite useless to provoke a harsh reaction from US if you are able to produce only a handful of machines per year. This would be only harmful pride.

Havok already said that there will be no official announcement

It doesn't matter anymore, next year in 2024 ASML will no be able to ship immersion machines to China, their 3 more advanced models are restricted by Holland and the 1980Di was restricted by US bogus export rules and they are going to even use a screw made in the US to stop ASML from shipping these machines, ASML will have to go back and make the 1950i again if they want to export immersion machines freely again.

Currently, under the background of technological revolution and industrial transformation in the digital economy, Zhangjiang's industrial development space is improving day by day, and technological innovation has entered a period of intensive activity. Zhangjiang is actively planning and accelerating the layout of new tracks in cutting-edge industries. As Shanghai's future industrial highland, Zhangjiang has emerged with a large number of cutting-edge technology "trendsetters" striving to seize the future market. Focusing on cutting-edge data technology, computing algorithms, data services, embodied intelligence and other fields, Zhangjiang has gathered representative leading companies such as Baidu Feipiao, Alibaba Pingtouge, IBM, Microsoft, Qiniu Cloud, Fourier Intelligence, and Zhiyuan Robot. Promote the integrated development of digital information technology and artificial intelligence-related industries. In the field of domestic chips that attracts the most attention, Zhangjiang's "core" companies are working hard to improve themselves. While UNISOC is deeply engaged in 5G, it has also started pre-research on 6G technology for cutting-edge 6G technology. Under the wave of AI, Timeking Technology insists on self-developing domain-specific processors based on RISC-V architecture, and has launched a series of chip products for edge-side intelligent interaction and signal processing. As the only domestic company that masters lithography machine technology, Shanghai Microelectronics has successfully developed a 28-nanometer lithography machine. Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation, Hua Hong Semiconductor, etc. are constantly improving their advanced analog chip foundry capabilities and continuously injecting strong energy to achieve doubling goals and continue high-quality development.

this is just an un-official announcement from China. we conquered immersion DUV.

this is itself a big news regarding immersion lithography technology. all technical bottleneck have solved and now they will scale up and upgrade the machine in coming years..

Invest 5 billion yuan! Wuhan Optics Valley will build a compound semiconductor corporate headquarters park

Wuhan Optics Valley announced an investment of 5 billion yuan to build a compound semiconductor incubation acceleration and manufacturing base. It will be located south of the Jiufengshan Laboratory to build an R&D office building, pilot workshop, clean workshop, conference center, etc. The incubation acceleration function carrier, as well as supporting facilities such as talent apartments, will start next year and be put into use the year after that. As a headquarters park, we strive to introduce and cultivate 100 enterprises within three years.
It is reported that Jiufengshan Laboratory is one of the top ten Hubei laboratories and has built the most advanced and largest scientific research and pilot test platform in the compound semiconductor industry.
The headquarters park is invested and constructed by Wuhan Hi-Tech Group. It will use resources such as Jiufengshan Laboratory's process production line and testing capabilities to lower the development threshold and shorten the development cycle. It will focus on breaking through key links in the industrial chain such as design, equipment, and materials to complete the innovation chain and industry. Chain docking.
News from China Optics Valley shows that there are currently six project teams including the Tiangong Core Testing Center Project and Core Guide Energy Transmission that have expressed their intention to settle in the company, and the demand for clean room factories reaches 17,000 square meters.

Bloomberg) -- Shanghai Micro Electronics Equipment Group Co. achieved a technological breakthrough in chipmaking gear, a major state-backed shareholder declared, suggesting the US-blacklisted firm has made advances in China’s fight to overcome US chip sanctions. Known as SMEE, the company developed a lithography machine that can be used to make 28-nanometer chips, Zhangjiang Group said in a post on WeChat on Tuesday. Zhangjiang is the parent of listed Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park Development Co., which is SMEE’s fourth largest shareholder, according to data provider Tianyancha.

the state-backed firm later amended that post to remove references to 28nm. Instead, the post now reads simply that SMEE is committed to building advanced lithography machines. While 28nm chips first became available in 2011, SMEE’s latest achievement means China may have reduced the gap with the field’s leader by several years.
