Other than SMIC, to be more precise SMSC at Shanghai, no one has the capability to even make such chips. It is baffling how people still come up with these assumptions. Puyuan Fine Technology further pointed out that this product is based on the company's new self-developed core module, innovative hardware platform (Station Max® II) and hard-core technology platform (Ultra Vision III). The core of StationMax® II is a modular hardware platform. It reconstructs a new digital oscilloscope system architecture through self-developed analog front-end modules and high-speed sampling modules, and the company has independent core intellectual property rights for related innovative designs.
According to reports, the DS80000 series digital oscilloscope products have a maximum bandwidth of 13GHz, a real-time sampling rate of 40GSa/s, a storage depth of 4Gpts, a waveform capture rate of 500,000wfms/s, an adjustable vertical resolution of 8-16bit, and a 15.6-inch high-definition display with adjustable tilt angle. Huawei poaching and stealing talent from SMIC will only delay scaling 7nm production. You need talented engineers to refine 7nm yields and scale appropriately, there are limited talent pool to compete for...this risk fragmentation of semiconductor industry. Everyone focusing on their strengths and collaborating to synergize is best way to go, rather the duplicate efforts and cannibalize domestic talent.

Asia Times cope article claiming SK Hynix memory chips somehow weaken the Chinese "purity" of the Mate 60 smartphone. While conveniently ignoring that SK Hynix's memory fabs are in China even if the company is South Korean.

Even without that little detail. I would not be surprised if the Kirin 9000S memory controller supported LPDDR4X in addition to LPDDR5. The Kirin 9000E did precisely that. Which would meant that Huawei could use CXMT LPDDR4X memory. And YMTC could easily provide the NAND. There might be a performance penalty but supply would be available.

Looks like the whole thing mushroomed. Of course none of this activity is reflected on Google Maps yet. The construction seems to have happened just way too fast.

A few years ago I heard Anhui as a province is quite poor. But now it seems tech companies start flocking there

By looking at their website it seems that Fab2 was completed in 2022 and they also have a fab in Beijing. My impression is that they are keeping a low profile with regards to their products but they are more advanced than what everyone thinks.
