According to one of the replies, it's ~4 hours of waiting at HW flagship store at Shanghai.

Shenzhen's faster, I'd recon. XD

But hey, Shanghai is a ghost town, so those must've been ghosts queuing up for HW... o_O
Way more than that, at least on Friday. Here’s a picture of the line at 1:30 AM

Looks like still massive lines of thousands of people today… alas that flagship store has announced it has stopped accepting reservations for the day.

Really kicking myself for not grabbing a X5 when I had the chance!

It does say domestically manufactured
国产自研 = domestically manufactured, self-developed

Sorry Sir but according to Hong Kong news media HK01.com report on 25th June 2022, "龍鷹一号" was made by TSMC

China's first 7nm automotive chip is launched, taking the traditional Chinese character "Dragon Eagle" and manufactured by TSMC

The development of automotive chips towards advanced manufacturing processes has become a trend. Recently, China's first 7-nanometer automotive chip "Longying No. 1" display car was unveiled in Wuhan after several years of research and development. The name "Longying" takes the traditional Chinese character. It is reported that this chip, like Qualcomm's 7-nanometer automotive chip that is currently in mass production, is manufactured by TSMC, the world's leading wafer foundry.

I would suggest that we stop hoping for magical process until EUV is ready and just expect incremental progress for the next 2 yrs

I'm not sure how real this is, but picture of Nova 12 series using kirin chips. Nova 12 coming out with 9000S in 12 Pro and Kirin-830 in Nova 12. And no, I have no idea how good Kirin 830 is. I assume it uses SMIC N+2, but with smaller die and simpler (higher yielding) to produce. I don't see why it would need some of the sections of kirin9000S

Other news is that Huawei is getting ready to really start selling its phones abroad.

Let's wait and see

In other news, Xiaomi is working extra hard here recruiting software engineers for SoC. It has poached some Hisilicon engineers to its design house and is looking to develop its own SoC. Whether or not it comes with its own modem is a different story. Remains to be seen whether Xiaomi gets into trouble for designing its own SoC or not

I think it boils down to whether Xiaomi’s business is robust enough to withstand potential sanctions. Let’s not forget how Oppo tried to make chips in-house but had to disband their RnD group after thinly veiled threats from the US.
