Think the country needs a real independent body(filled with accountants, scientists, semi conductor professionals etc) to oversea such big projects and avoid corruption and scams since alot of money is being wasted (billions of dollars) in such scams and many more will be if things continues this way.
Bro don't worry Huawei is the vanguard of China semiconductor development, they know what is needed and how to achieved it, they are the end user and being sanction their survival is at stake, so every penny, opportunity and risk they will take to give Uncle Sam the middle finger.

Not too long ago the western media smugly declared that Huawei is dead in the water, kaput. And it will take Chinese semi-eon to catch up. But. but Huawei is like the proverbial phoenix rising from the ashes Bloomberg picked up the news and I am looking forward to what is the Western media has to say tomorrow

(Bloomberg) -- Chinese technology shares surged Wednesday after Huawei Technologies Co. surprised investors by debuting a 6,999 yuan ($960) smartphone, buoying hopes for advances in domestic chip and mobile technology despite US sanctions.

The Mate 60 Pro device, which appeared this week for sale online with little warning, generated buzz among Chinese users who saw in the gadget Huawei’s resurgence in the high-end market. Many users posted messages describing its fast wireless performance, triggering speculation Huawei had managed to achieve 5G-capabilities despite being barred from top-of-the-line chipmaking and technology.

Chinese chip firms and Huawei suppliers including Lontium Semiconductor Corp., Cambricon Technologies Corp. and Anker Innovations Technology Co. climbed between 8% and 11%. Biwin Storage Technology Co. and Guangdong Leadyo IC Testing Co. surged their 20% daily limits.

Umm no this is pure cope on display here. There is nothing low key about the Huawei Mate 60 release. It is the number one news item in China right now.

I don’t think there will be more articles from MSM on this for a couple of days. They are in complete shock right now and had no clue that this was coming. It is the tech equivalent of the Saudi-Iranian peace agreement. Remember how that went down?

Just as last year when the SDF meltdowns and hyperventilation were becoming unbearable. Now, this gloating is becoming annoying too. Let's stick on topic and just talk about chip related stuff. Hard to get the relevant news overnight when 90% of it are just celebrations

From the guy that revealed the return of kirin news

A couple of notes here.
1st, the 5G Kirin chip order is very large, probably more than Mate 60 production, so expect it on other phones

Also, the heat dissipation on Mate 60 Pro is really good and next to kirin Soc

Btw, this is a big deal since power consumption/heat is likely a bigger concern with a stacked 7nm process SoC compared to a 4nm SoC like Snapdragon 8

Based on my calculation, they can probably make 1.5 million Kirin-9000S a month at SMSC, so 18 million a year. That is enough for Mate 60 and another medium end phone

Just like i thought bigger nodes most likely means bigger battery and better cooling solutions. Good to hear huawei has cracked those problems..

Can I ask what your estimate is for yield and wafer capacity at SMSC? I calculated 2mn Kirin 9000S per month using a low-ball estimate of (1) 7.5k 7nm wafers per month, and (2) 50%~ yield.
