you should try to find who owns Ningbo fabs now...I once posted on twitter: they don't have to use their own fab...they get help from other companies...
This is their website

Given their work with RF and MEMS chips, I wouldn't be surprised if they are fabbing for Huawei, but I don't see any proof that they are actually owned by Huawei. It's part of SMEC.

I looked a little more and couldn't find any confirmation of this other than online rumors

On Huawei fabs, I see a pretty good listing here from Shenzhen new fabs

First for PXW
28/20nm node for auto electronics, new energy, image sensors, smart home, wearable equipment demand

next for Swaysure or 昇维旭(SWX)

This one is for DRAM to start production in 2024Q1

and then final one is 鹏新旭 (PXX)

China is producing more YoY
importing much less
exporting less

By July, they imported 42.4B chips
june, they produced 32.2B chips

From that perspective, even by #, they are still covering under 50% of need

although the number does seem a little fishy since it says they exported over 150B chips from Jan to July which means they exported 20B chips, which doesn't make sense to me. i guess we just go with more domestic production and a lot less import

Of course, TSMC wants to bring in Taiwanese workers. Taiwanese workers have more experience, lower pays, and better work ethics. TMSC plants would continue to be delayed due to various issues from labors to bureaucracy.

Just ask out of curiosity, because I'm not an expert in that field. A lot of American companies are demanding the chips from the Arizona plant. Do they pay the same wafer price like in Taiwan or would it be more costly?

In other words are these companies willing to pay a higher price per wafer or is Tsmc are willing to loose bigger margin on this plant. On business side these plant it's just doomed.

I believe TSMC is charging more.

American companies need to pay extra. TSMC has already said that the price would be 20% to 30% more for American manufacture chips than those made in Taiwan.
