Now, when Sanan signed this deal, they were doing this for their hunan SiC aiming to produce 500k 6-inch wafers a year
Now if we use that to calculate for BYD's planned production, it would come out to 320k wafers per year, which is a huge growth over the 18k wafers per year they have over the immediate future. While many chipmakers make investment based on projected orders from various customers, BYD semiconductor is the only one that knows it will have guaranteed customer for its production
