Yeah I guess the mechanical characteristics are more important when you’re dealing with fluidics. I almost want to say you guys dealing with gases have it easy on this front!
what is the mechanical importance of seals for fluids? I know a little about UPW systems, and they seem to just use similar seals for sanitary and compression fittings.

I won’t go into too much detail but inconsistent compression mechanics across o rings we’ve been getting from a supplier is causing more variation in the behavior of a pressurized stream that we want a lot more consistency from across instruments (and across key assembly that’s kind of central to what the instrument does).

Dinglong shares: Several CMP polishing fluid products have been sold on a large scale at the client side

Recently, Dinglong Co., Ltd. said in an agency survey that the company's CMP polishing fluid business is in a stage of rapid growth this year. At present, the company has several CMP polishing fluid products sold on a large scale at the client. Other CMP polishing fluid products of various processes Many customers across the country have entered the critical verification stage.
It further stated that the company's CMP polishing liquid products have multiple advantages: In terms of supply chain, the company has realized the independent preparation of abrasive particles, the core raw material of CMP polishing liquid, which has a great impact on the quality of polishing liquid products. Higher proportion of material cost. The independent supply of abrasive particles will help the company to customize the development of CMP polishing liquid products, and enhance the safety, stability and economy of the company's polishing liquid product supply chain.
In terms of platform layout, the company, as a platform enterprise of innovative materials, has deployed a variety of core consumables in the CMP polishing process of integrated circuit manufacturing, and provided systematic solutions for CMP process materials, which has deepened the company's application of CMP polishing fluid products. The understanding of CMP polishing liquid, polishing pad and other materials' adaptability, thus enhancing the competitiveness of the company's polishing liquid products.
Regarding the progress of the CMP polishing pad business, Dinglong said that the company is the only domestic supplier of CMP polishing pads in China that has fully mastered the core R&D and manufacturing technology of the entire process of polishing pads. It has deeply penetrated the supply chain of domestic mainstream wafer factories, and its product quality has won customers Highly positive. In the first half of this year, the company focused its market development on the main logical customers. The sales proportion of logical customers is gradually increasing, and the customer structure has been optimized. In addition, the company's Qianjiang Phase III polishing pad new production line has been put into operation, which further improves the company's CMP polishing pad product layout, which also provides help for the marketing of polishing pad products.

Hi
This is a rumor but for the first time I heard that SMEE system being put into volume production.
It's the ArF 90nm dual stages scanner being deployed at Yandong for 65nm process using multipattern. It's different than the original 90nm system because now it uses all domestic parts and changed to dual stage.
Yandong been using this for 65nm production since April. Monthly volume is 40K wafers.
If this true it's exciting news because for the first time SMEE has volume production track record.

Yandong installed a SMEE 90nm since November last year, but according to @hvpc it never worked correctly, in particular the U-Precision wafer double stage had strong reliability issues.

If now they have fixed them, it is a good news because the double stage is the same for all the SMEE new series and improvements on one model can be ported to all the line.

Maybe @hvpc could confirm this rumor.

Is @hvpc a spy? he seems to know everything. lol

We have a rumor here, nothing more than this. Because this can be an important news, it is sensible IMHO to get a different source of confirmation, and because @hvpc, beside working in the field as his day-time job, is usually quite realistic (many here would say pessimistic), his opinion is important as counterbalance.

No useful to have bunch of people parroting just one opinion, no new info you will get with this approach. Better to listen to people with different point of views and then reach your personal conclusions.

It is important to note that hvpc seems to be focused on commercialization and competition in an free market situation. Thus my impression is his pessimism is based on a competitive situation that I personally think will increasingly not apply as the new cold war continues to heat up.
