Wait for real? Why does it make me so damn happy. I've been waiting for a long time to hear their work progress in 14nm and subsequent below node chips. Can anyone please translate it?
If at least two domestic Foundry companies are there, they will compete with each other and progress will be much faster. Just look at Vivo, Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo with Smartphone. They completely wiped out all Japanese, Taiwanese South Korean (except Samsung) European and American (except the obvious) companies in Smartphone business.
its real. this is a future plan of Hua Hong Group. most probably for 15th five year plan(2025-2030). after localization of complete set of domestic tools and lithography machine serial production.

interesting. HW Enjoy 60X is out now with CPU listed as Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, which is designed using TSMC's N6 process back in 2021 for lower end smartphones. (4 A73 + 4 A54 + Andreno 610)

If you go to webpage for 60X, you will see that's the CPU listed there. But if you check up 60 or 50z, you won't see any CPU listed there. Which would indicate both phones use Kirin CPU that Huawei doesn't want the rest of the world to know yet.

So, it would also point to whatever stacked CPU Hisilicon designed to work with SMIC 12nm process has similar performance to Snapdragon 680. Maybe a little worse, but can't be that much worse. No, I don't think it's Kirin 710A. It's been several years and it would be strange to call a newly designed SoC the same name.

Bro can Hua Hong compete with SMIC for advance node? from my limited understanding using foreign equipment like ASML definitely not BUT with local equipment? maybe since both will start from scratch (using local tools) and Hua Hong seems gung ho in investing as shown by their presentation.

Looks like Tencent cloud's Canghai chip is in production with 10 to 100k in usage. It's been in use for the past year and has been widely used for video encoding. Single frame 1080p encoding on takes 4ms. Saves 10% bit rate compmared to industry leading chips using GPUs.

Zixiao also in usage (as I posted earlier) for storage & computation architecture and reduces cost by 45% while providing 3x the AI acceleration.

High performance network chip XuanLing also in usage and improves performance 4x

Loongson 2K1000LA industrial board has been unveiled for industrial data security and various industrial scenarios

It uses 2K1000LA CPU, 4GB memory, 1GB NAND storage, supports I/O interface and can operate from -40 to 85 degrees. Can support AI edge computing application???????

Used in energy, transportation, industrial control, medical care, smart manufacturing....

Now IIRC, Harmony has support for 2K1000LA, so this might be a good place to use it (huawei products) and also other critical infrastructure that have lower computatinal needs

1 month ago, Huahong tendered a lot of domestic equipment...

As for whether it can compete with SMIC or not... it will be profitable in investment capital

Shanghai will build a car-level chip design and pilot test platform to solve R&D problems​

Tang Wenkan, deputy director of the Shanghai Economic and Information Commission, said at the Shanghai Automotive Chip Valley Global (First) Automotive Chip Industry Summit on April 15 that Shanghai will encourage SAIC and other vehicle companies to actively participate in the investment and layout of automotive chips, covering communication , MCU (micro control unit) and other chip products. It will also support the establishment of automotive chip expert groups and industry alliances, gradually solve cross-industry technical communication problems, and support a series of international exchange activities such as the Global Automotive Chip Industry Summit and the Global Automotive Electronics Summit Forum.
According to reports, Shanghai is ready to actively promote the establishment of key functional platforms, including the establishment of a public service platform for car-level chip design and pilot tests in Jiading, Shanghai, to solve the problems in the research and development of small and medium-sized car chip companies. At the same time, a third-party testing and certification platform for automotive chips was established in Jiading, Shanghai. Promote insurance companies to introduce commercial insurance for the loading and application of automotive chips, and share risks in a market-oriented manner.​
