like @Red Moon said the problem is not the politics that directly surround the China semiconductor industry in this thread but the generalized politics that usually devolves into no nonsensical posting unrelated to this thread.
I and I think nobody else have not problem posting the latest brain cell killing stupidity of Marco Rubio about China semiconductor industry but I do have a problem of page after page of postings not related to semiconductors at all, nationalistic postings, name calling, "this bad and that good" and so on.
There shouldn't be any political posts for any reason in this thread. It should just be facts, announcements, rumours from credible sources, etc.

Expansion of YMTC with the help of AMEC.

Progress has been made in etching equipment with extremely high aspect ratio: the FLEX series equipment for etching with extremely high aspect ratio of LAM in the United States is the most important obstacle restricting the expansion of domestic 3D NAND production; the extremely high aspect ratio used by AMEC for more advanced microscopic device manufacturing processes Etching equipment has made gratifying progress and is expected to contribute sales revenue to the company. The breakthrough and large volume of this kind of equipment will help the major customers of AMEC to resume production expansion and strongly stimulate their own performance.

This would explain the new funding which has doubled the registered capital of YMTC.

I don't know how many tools they still need at YMTC, but seems like the new registered capital would only be happening if they got update that a De-americanized process for 128nm may be ready in the next year.

Also more generally, this to me boosts the idea that AMEC and NAURA can provide alternatives to Lam/AMAT for 14nm process sooner rather than later.

When it was originally put on JD, there was only limited supply that could only be bought with purchase code. Now, they got an updated supply and purchase code is no longer required. Price has also dropped to 1870 RMB from 2999

Considering that this came after their recent firmware update, I think it's a good sign that they've
1) Have a stash of them already produced (my guess TSMC produces them)
2) It's no longer considered to be in beta mode and they expect some of the performance issues to have been worked through
3) They've put in a large order with chipmaker. Lower sales price would indicate that they are now able to sell a large quantity of them

Here's another list (no paywall!) compiled by Xinbang (a Wechat account covering semiconductors) on semiconductor industry delegates in China's "two sessions" - a total of 26 members from the industry!

Also included in the article are synopses of select proposals made by the delegates on improving the semiconductor ecosystem in aspects such as R&D and education.

If there is a chip shortage or if the ongoing sanctions make it difficult for some Fabs to produce certain chips in huge volumes, is it viable to reuse chips from old products? I don't think my car, TV or microwave really cares if the chips controlling them have already been used, their other components are more likely to wear out than the chip themselves.

I might have issue if I buy a high end phone to know that it's CPU has already been used for a couple of years. But I don't see why other products can't just reuse chips from recycled products.

A lot of people ignore the fact most of the chips China imports are for making products for later export. China's own requirements are much smaller and they likely can already produce enough to meet their own requirements. I think the main issue is the dependency on imports of tools and materials like photoresist. Companies like SMIC and Hua Hong are getting close in terms of revenue to leading edge foundries like GlobalFoundries already. If SMIC successfully pulls off their expansion they will surpass UMC and GlobalFoundries to become the #2 foundry by volume after TSMC.
