Thought to share my effort to procure DRAM using CXMT chips. Found this netac rbg ddr4 sporting CXMT ic on some chinese review sites, contacted the official seller on aliexpress, but they cant promise to send out those specifically which ones.
Some of the DRAM sold by Adata is or was by CXMT, Adata also sold or sells SSDs with YMTC NAND.
There are also Foresee branded DRAM products by Longsys with CXMT chips in them I think.
Be aware that CXMT still only manufactures DDR4 DRAM.

I think in both cases you are not guaranteed to get a specific brand since Adata at least sells memory sticks using chips from several different vendors including Micron and SK Hynix.

After reading many posts here, tweets, and news articles about the latest IC tech ban, I have a feeling that it's likely going to end up like the EU sanctions on Russia, basically the ban will end up hurting the US far more than China. But as we've been witnessing that won't stop the US to continue making stupid decisions just like the EU.

Am I correct or am I coping... LOL.

Nuclear weapon, ballistic missile, turbofan engine, high speed trains, space station, Lunar/Mars lander and successful on first try to boot, tunnel boring machine, civilian and military drones, AESA radar, anti-drone/anti-satellite lasers, rail guns, aircraft carrier, EMAL, hypersonic weapons, 5G network, automated driving, AI facial recognition and other applications, electric vehicles... the list goes on and on.

I am confused. Does anyone seriously think that semiconductor has some sort of magical barrier that could stop Chinese progress?

China’s top memory chip maker woos local graduates for design jobs as US tightens export controls

  • YMTC presented a generous package to entice new employees, including 15 days of leave and a 40 per cent discount on home purchases in Wuhan
  • Graduates with majors in microelectronics, ICs, software engineering, electronic engineering, and computing were preferable applicants

New era has begun. will greatly benefit local talent . we will see the same trend in all critical high tech industries.

Why doesn't he show the receipt proving it's $1?

In Texas the price is $3.35 for the sandwich alone.
In Australia, supermarkets are required to show products prices by the kilo so that customers can easily compare prices, but supermarkets got creative and show prices per 100gm, 400gm, 800gm, etc giving the illusions that their products are cheap. Since chicken fillets are sold by weight, a 100gm fillet will cost only $1.00 at $10.00 per kilo no matter how the prices per weight are presented.

if you think about it, the price of chicken fillet $10 per kilo is ridiculously cheap, imagine the process to get 1kg of chicken fillet from the chick ....

In NZ is more expensive, you could get $12 or $15 a kilo ... but I am not a big fan of chicken breast fillet, much prefer thigh fillet or drumstick. Thigh fillet is more expensive but drumstick is super cheap, you could get like $3.99 per kilo including the bone

How large will the disruption from pulling out US workers be? Can China feasibly maintain the current imported machines without US workers?

I think these people are confusing companies like Lam pulling out its employees with Chinese-American dual citizens choosing their US citizenship over continuing to work in China. It would be interesting to know the breakdown of their workers by nationality. Presumably a large proportion of them will be PRC or ROC nationals who will now be very desirable employees to Chinese companies.

Also remember that the Korean and Taiwanese fabs are going to continue using American equipment. Lam, KLA and applied materials are going to need some engineers in China to support them. So they'll be employing many people in China but US citizens will probably be less welcome. Thank you America for incentivising the training of Chinese engineers over American ones

yes. third party maintenance. how large? low.

analog fabs can keep 200 mm instruments from 1990's operational with them.

Even INDIA has a semiconductor equipment service company (HCL).

If all the think tankies that provide briefings to the US government are as stupid as this Schneider guy, then the complete victory of China is just a matter of time. He clearly does not understand a single thing he is spewing but still tries to act like an expert.
