Thanks @ansy1968
Among them which ones that is on par with market leader such as LAM, Applied Material etc?

As I understand, SMEE is not yet on par with ASML.
AMEC is considered at the leading edge in plasma etch. They sell to the top tier fabs. AMEC was qualified for 5 nm etch at TSMC 5 years ago.

That is another thing the U.S. could loss forever in the Chinese semiconductor industry: Influence.
U.S. nationals by occupying high positions in Chinese companies have influenced the purchasing decisions of Chinese semi companies in favor of US products. As the influence of U.S. nationals wane not only in the semiconductor industry but in others industries too, the purchasing decisions of Chinese companies will shift too.
Korean nationals could influence Chinese companies to buy more Korean made equipment.

Is even worst, as US companies pull out of China, fabs are literally becoming black boxes, if you think about it the only thing stopping Chinese fabs from making the chips of a massive Russian drone fleet is Europe ASML and Japan Tokyo Electron.

Meh they found TI chips and maybe some Intel chips on Iran suicide drones and nobody knows the supply routes. If they found some Chinese chips later on, they'd just shrug. Maybe it was from Kremlin's latest singles day binge buying? Who knows?

After reading many posts here, tweets, and news articles about the latest IC tech ban, I have a feeling that it's likely going to end up like the EU sanctions on Russia, basically the ban will end up hurting the US far more than China. But as we've been witnessing that won't stop the US to continue making stupid decisions just like the EU.

Am I correct or am I coping... LOL.

Unmarked chips, process the ASIC wafers and send the processed wafers to Russia, the definition of a black box. Why they even want pretend anymore if they are forced to use their own tools. Just make the money.

Yup correct bro, we both smoked the same weed...lol The US want to bluff China and Xi isn't biting, a matter of fact the Chinese aren't buying any American Toilet Paper (Treasury Bills) as they consider it unhygienic...lol

Sorry guys, I couldn't resist. But this copium is hilarious.

This whole thread is beautiful, can't wait to see how their faces will look like when 28 nm lithography will be put at mass production stage, when EUV appears I think many will jump from the Golden Gate bridge.
The guy is quoting a well known doomsayer from Zhihu. The said Zhihu user has a Twitter account too. He has nothing to do with the semiconductor industry and famously has a history of gauging the state of the US economy from fried chicken prices (which he also knew wrong)

It is absolutely amazing how random posts from Chinese social media become big discussion topics for US think-tanks. We have seen that happening a lot of times. A very good chunk of misinformation about the PLA are actually random Chinese internet posts who made their way into US think-tank articles and then Wikipedia. That's what I'd call soft power, LOL.
