China Micro Semiconductor won the bid for 12 etching equipment's of Hua Hong Semiconductor
According to the information of the micro-net and the bidding platform information, on April 1, China Micro Semiconductor Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. won the bid for 12 etching machines from Hua Hong Semiconductor (Wuxi) Co., Ltd., including the passivation film plasma etching machine, Oxide film plasma etcher and silicon nitride plasma etcher.
It is reported that Hua Hong Semiconductor (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. was established in October 2017 and is located in Xinwu District, Wuxi City. To meet the requirements of regional coordinated development, Hua Hong Semiconductor (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. came into being as an important measure to actively integrate into and serve the integration strategy of the Yangtze River Delta. The company's total investment is 10 billion US dollars, of which the total investment of the first phase project (Huahong No. 7 factory) is about 2.5 billion US dollars, and the construction of a 12-inch production line with a monthly production capacity of 40,000 pieces. The project started construction in 2018; officially entered the production and operation period in 2019; in 2021, it will be fully operational, and the monthly target of 40,000 films will be achieved

The semiconductor supply chain, especially the one inside China, has to be viewed in its totality.
Everything single part must work, for the entire thing to work. It is the totality of it. It must all work together. And much of it is highly specialized and technical, where very few can do it.
If such and such a company in China, can make a photoresist to a certain spec, then we can be certain there is a market for that chip size inside China.
Bit by bit this is being done.
The outside world, it is rumoured there is some sort of great replacement going on. Who knows what that is about? Maybe President Trump has the connections, he knows!
The great replacement is happening in China IC.
That is one byproduct of this Russia Ukraine war.
China will wipe out foreign inputs for mostly everything now, especially in IC, because they damn picked a fight over it.
That is why China will never understand the west.
After this Russia Ukraine war, all the west demands is clarification on what is China's policy towards Russia.
The real question (at least in Chinese minds) is what is China's policy towards IC?

They are under no obligation to inform anyone of anything, including policy changes.
Just like the real old days.
Everyone knows it has completely changed.

Clearly, that should have been a message to the outside world, and trading partners that there is still room for your products inside China.
At 95% for China 2025 or China 2030, there is no room anymore.
Unless a country, such as Korea or Japan, specifically make real commitments to participate in the China market. Otherwise, China will cut you out.
This Russia Ukraine war, has forced the issue. Nations have to choose sides now. Even though they are not prepared to do that, they have to do that.
