Chinese purchase of Su-35

Mig-29,

If Su-35 is so advanced and so good, why your "cash cow" India is not interested ?, They may think your baby SU-35 is not any better than their SU-30MKI ... really what real advancements SU-35 have over SU-30MKI ? hardly any.

SU-35 still use PESA, while Chinese J-11B and J-10B uses AESA and they are already flying and operational (not quite for J-10B), you notice I didn't mention J-20 and J-31 which clearly use AESA . Russia don't have any working AESA radar yet, please don't tell me otherwise without backing up.

There really is no need to mock the poster Mig-29 or the aircraft Su-35. Su-35 is probably going to be a very good fighter jet, although behind its times. Mig-29 should be allowed to be proud of Russian aircraft.

At the same time, his argument doesn't work:
Even if Su-35 is better than J-11B, that does not mean China would want to buy it.
Whether or not some pre-production J-15 flies with AL-31F does not conclude whether or China need Su-35 either.

The point is this thread has gone on long enough based on another rumour from Russian press. Until we actually have solid evidence that Su-35 is getting delivered to China, it's a just a lot of empty noise.

This thread is still going strong? Just how long can people continue to discuss a non-story?

If China was going to buy the Su35, a deal would have been signed at Zhuhai 2012. No deal was signed, that should have been the end of it.

But then, if we were going with logic and reason, the whole Su35 story would never have pick up any momentum to begin with, since the Russians have been using the exact same ploy to generate buzz and hype about their offerings for years now. If I had a $ for every time some Russian official or internet fanboy speculated about China buying the Su35, I would probably have enough money to buy a bloody Su35 myself.

How about those people who insist on believing that China will buy the Su35 put their money where their mouth is, I'll set up a suspense account and everyone who thinks China will buy the Su35 can put a $ into it. If we tally up the 'vote's and we have $60m, I'll place an order on behalf of the PLAAF and donate the plane to them. Then everyone who ever said China will buy the Su35 can go, "ha! I told you so!" That's worth a dollar isn't it? :p

The rumour started on 2006 Zuhai Airshow until now, it has not stop. I think the rumour is too ridiculous...

Exactly, it's almost become a ritual every year. Zhuhai starts, the Russian Knights come to fly, Russian officials make noise about a possible Chinese Su35 order, nothing happens.

You'd think that after all these years people would get wise to this, but apparently some never do.

I think that is a given, because Russian themselves said they will bring the most advanced Flanker to Zhuhai in 2014, this is in one of their press conferences.

My crystal ball tell me, indeed Russia will bring their SU-35BM in 2014 and talk about China wanting to buy then in the end nothing will happen, then Russia will do a press conferences that says we have refuse to sell our warplane to China, because we can't afford the risk of them steal our technology.

The same thing will probably happen again in 2016, but not in 2018 because J-20 would probably be in service by then.

Sounds like the whole idea of how nightclubs have others wait outside in a line for a bit so to attract other people. Probably a marketing technique that they use to get more customers because the impact of Chinese getting something may trigger other customers into getting some themselves?

And of course their official SDF forum spokesperson is trying to get us to help spread the rumor by continuously telling him to trick us into believing WS-10 is a prototype or something lol.

That's not sticking your neck out, that's making a safe bet. ;) What will really be surprising is if the Russians didn't try this same trick again.
