Perhaps China's next war will be more ground-centric than most here expect?

Amercians are pretty dumb, but even they haven't invade Russia yet, due to the nuclear threat, do you think we Chinese are dumber than Amercunts ?
And since when has PRC since 1949 invaded anyone on territorial dispute that PRC does not have any traditional claim to ?

Surely you would know better than to read comments from CNA, Singapore's mouthpiece. There's no people more deranged than Chinese Singaporean 高华 who for years enjoyed showing off their superiority to mainland Chinese because they could speak a weird kind of English.

More Lu than Auntie Lu, more Chan than Uncle Chan.

Funny you say that, because the comments that triggered my post were made by Chinese names in hanyu pinyin accusing CNA of covering up for CCP.

And pray tell why do you have a penchant for insulting entire countries?

For me the new line-up is okay. The new folks are mostly moderate pro-market technocrats with extensive provincial experience.

It reflects well on Xi that he likes pro-market, non-hardliner technocrats.

(A sidenote, but it's interesting that none have extensive interior, western experience. Unlike Hu, Xi's rule has tended to benefit more wealthy, coastal provinces - reflecting his own career primarily on the rich coast. Naturally no Western propagandist will mention this since it goes against thei narrative of Xi being Hitler-Stalin-Satan fused into one.)

As for this new line-up being all Xi loyalists, I consider this many years too late to lament. Xi's power was limitless before. Now his power is again limitless. Nothing has changed.

I hope Xi retires in 2032 (or much better yet for China, today).

Well bro 2024 will be a year of turbulence as the US, Russia and Taiwan will hold elections, by then Xi with his team are prepared for any eventualities, he and his team will be working overtime as the urgency dictates especially on Semiconductors tools and aircraft engine. I wonder what happen to Liu He? will he be retained as Semiconductor task force Tsar?

Surely not all Chinese Singaporeans are 高华。Just as not all Chinese Americans are bananas.

I didn't bother reading the comments, because as you experienced, you're just gonna get yourself offended.

Pray tell sounds like a British-educated 1950s choice of phrasing. Not even 60 year old white men today use that phrase unless they wanted to condescend to someone lol. Caustic and abrasive. Whew!

Where's Hendrik_2000 the guy from Singapore? Haven't seen him around.
