Watched Chang'an 《长安三万里》on IMAX. It's an ambitious film that took on incredible risks - a 168 minute (the longest ever for a theatrically released animated film) about the life trajectories of two Tang poets Li Bai and Gao Shi. Don't want to spoil anything but I didn't find the almost three hours runtime long at all. A lot of people are saying it's the best script Light Chaser Animation has ever produced and I agree. However I even liked their Green Snake so I'm partial to their storytelling to begin with.
Not sure about overseas release. Light Chaser's last few films all found their way to theaters in the U.S. via specialists animation distributors, but China Film Group is co-producing Chang'an and they have their own distribution channels. Anyway, if the film shows up near where you live, do try to watch it on a big screen like IMAX if at all possible as the visuals are great.
Also apparently An-Shi Rebellion is now an acceptable topic for movies, which is nice. I never understood the point of censoring such a turning point in Chinese history just because of some stupid ethnic policies.

Was looking for some info on the upcoming Code: To Jin Yong game since it's been a year since the original trailer was released and found this. It's from Weibo and it's talking about the world building for the game. Seems pretty good for something so early. Fingers crossed for a 2026 release.

Fengshenbang is awesome. I still remember the 90's version with the terrible special effects and how the king can draw seal script with a sword in stone faster than I can write...

Wow, been a while since this game had any updates. Apparently now they're aiming for Q2 2024. Looks like China's AAA scene is going to step on the stage in a big way that year. Let's see how it goes.
