China pretty puts a soft ban on Korea and Vietnam war dramas for a few decades. Most of modern wars movies or dramas were focused upon Japan invasion and civil war.

More Korea war movies and dramas are coming out in the next few years. However, I hope they put more efforts for other parts of the war.
Need a movie or series about the PLAAF pilots that fought in Korea, I'm not aware of any that exist.

Recently, CADPA --a Chinese trade association for digital products -- has released a report on the state of the Chinese games market over H1 2023.

Parts of particular interest have been translated using Google translate and pasted here:
From January to June this year, the actual sales revenue of the domestic game market was 144.263 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.39%, and a month-on-month [probably means half-on-half] increase of 22.16%, showing a clear market recovery trend. The main reason for the year-on-year decline in revenue is that users' willingness to consume and consumption ability have not recovered from January to April; after entering May, despite a large increase in market revenue, it is still unable to offset the previous decline. According to this trend, it is expected that there will be a relatively strong bottoming out in the second half of the year.

During the same period, the number of game users in my country was 668 million, a year-on-year increase of 0.35%, reaching a record high.

Domestic games holding the majority of the home market, with overseas sales ~59B yuan; approximately 1/2 home sales:
From January to June this year, the actual sales revenue of my country's self-developed games in the domestic market was 121.784 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 2.25% and a month-on-month increase of 24.53%.

The actual sales revenue of self-developed games in overseas markets was US$8.206 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 8.72%. In major overseas markets, users' consumption willingness and ability are also affected by the economic downturn; international conflicts, exchange rate fluctuations, and increasingly fierce market competition have significantly increased overseas marketing costs.

From January to June this year, the United States, Japan, and South Korea are still the main overseas markets for my country's mobile games, accounting for 31.77%, 19.65%, and 8.50% respectively. The combined proportion of Germany, Britain and France is close to 10%. Overseas emerging markets from the Middle East, Latin America, and Southeast Asia continued to maintain an upward momentum.

Popular genres on mobile for overseas:
Among the top 100 self-developed mobile games by overseas revenue, strategy and role-playing games accounted for more than 50%; shooting and casual games accounted for 8.79% and 8.44% respectively. Although the proportion of strategy category still ranks first, the gap between the second place and it has narrowed year after year. The top three combined income accounted for more than 70% of last year, down to less than 60% in the first half of this year.
Popular genres on mobile for home:
From January to June this year, among the top 100 mobile games by revenue, multiplayer online tactical arena (MOBA) accounted for 16.72%; shooting games accounted for 16.37%; role-playing games accounted for 13.57%. The three together accounted for 46.66%. Among them, the proportion of role-playing revenue has declined significantly.

Preferred platforms for the home market:
From January to June this year, in the segmented market, mobile games accounted for 73.97% of the actual sales revenue of the market. Although it declined slightly year-on-year, it still dominated the domestic market; the actual sales revenue of client [PC] games continued to rise, accounting for 22.84%; the actual sales revenue of web games continued to shrink, accounting for only 1.64%.

Unfortunately for console fans, revenue <1B yuan for the entire console segment:
From January to June this year, the actual sales revenue of my country's console game market was 747 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 15.16%. The main reason is that the overall performance of new domestic console games [meaning all new console games sold in China] was weaker than that of the same period last year.

Here's for @zhangjim to watch and absorb the level of "censorship" propaganda that happens in America when it comes to the Hollywood-military industrial complex. I am posting this here for you specifically since you tend to complain bitterly against the propaganda arm of the CPC when it comes to their supposed clumsy ways of making movies. The book 1984 written by George Orwell increasingly and aptly describes the United States of America if one actually views the situation rather objectively and critically.

Observations at China's largest games expo -- good info for those who want to keep an eye on current & future trends:

Dominant trends at ChinaJoy
Niko Partners witnessed three dominant trends at the exhibition this year:
  1. Generative AI was mentioned during many speeches and showcased at booths. Huawei used the event to announce a partnership between seven games industry companies to build AI solutions for the games industry.
  2. Going overseas was mentioned in more than half of the speeches, referring to Chinese companies exporting their games to the rest of the world. According to

, games developed or published by Chinese companies accounted for 47% of mobile games revenue and 39% of PC games revenue worldwide (Including revenue generated domestically).
  3. Government support and the ongoing recovery of the games industry were both emphasized. Earlier in the month, the Shenzhen government announced new measures over a three-year period to support the development of an esports city. At ChinaJoy, the Shanghai Pudong government announced a $1.4 billion investment in the games industry to promote high-quality development of the cultural and creative sector.

Analyzing the current problems in movies from the perspective of the proletariat. The viewpoint of this video producer is not very straightforward, you can feel his implicit criticism of the development path after 1978.

Simply put, with the active disintegration of collective ownership (the content of his previous video), the Chinese proletariat has fallen into a serious spiritual dilemma, and the collectivist spirit and proletarian culture that rely on collective ownership have gradually disappeared.
With the development of the economy, film and television works with consumerism as the core and catering to the interests of the middle class (or small citizen class) have emerged in the 21st century.
For a period of time, the narrative of realism basically disappeared in film and television works, leaving only false love, showcasing luxury goods, and success myths in the story. Movies have completely become a vassal of consumerism, giving the middle class illusory dreams.
Both the male and female protagonists are flawless gods in the story, playing the role of effortless social elites in bustling cities, they have a lot of time wasted in empty and uninteresting love and play.
The true process of social operation will never appear in film and television works, nor will the real laborers who strive to make a living appear in movies.

But with the changes in the economic environment, the myth of 'hard work leads to success' has gone bankrupt, and audiences will increasingly dislike these empty and unrealistic films. Those directors, screenwriters, and actors who live well can no longer imagine what true poverty looks like.

——————————————
This actually brings the topic to a deeper realm:The censorship system is not as important as imagined, and what is even more frightening is that the entertainment industry is completely disconnected from the people due to the influence of capital.

Very true for Hollywood.

Very true for Hollywood.
Yes, the producers used Hollywood movies(1940s) as an example at the beginning of the video.
You need to understand that the author criticized the current situation of Chinese films from a left-wing perspective. This can be said to be the essence of entertainment in the capitalist environment: inducing consumption and forgetting pain.
